New feature: following and followers
This new feature enables the community members to keep a better track of who is following who. Until now in everyone’s dashboard and user profile there was the “Followers” area. Small user icons showed which users a member of the community was following. From now on, in this area users can switch between “Followers” and “Following”. “Following” shows the community members which this user follows. “Followers” shows the community members which are following this user. The wording could sound a bit confusing but we took it from twitter, so it’s something people already know. Here is a small explanation of how it works:
Following:

If you are on any idea page or on anyone’s user profile, there is a button “Follow this user”. If you click this button, your dashboard will be updated with all the activity this user preforms. In addition, the user will have your user image shown in his “Followers” area and he will receive a message in his dashboard informing him about your fan ship.
Followers:

In the “Followers” area users can see who is following a specific user.
This feature enables the community to grow together by liking users and establishing relations between them, also delivering some transparency by showing the connections between the users in the platform.

Ginger
What if I do not want to be followed by a special user, because I have the feeling I know him. Can I unfollow him?

dear ginger, no at the moment we do not have any option like ‘blocking’ specific users. If you feel disturbed by a fellow member’s actions towards you, please contact us at the support center.
