Eltern AG contest ends and contest winners!

Last friday, the Eltern AG contest closed and the  winners have been determined by the community!

And…. *drumroll* … Here are the winners:

1. place  The Eye of a Child by Jean

Jean’s submission came quite late and marched right through to the top ranks…

… The community loved the spacious header, the cute cut-out collage aesthetics and the playful approach – reminding us of how a child sees the world.

2. place Another Idea by Connynaumann

Conny also chose to work with large header images, and produced a clear and very well structured layout. She developed her concept to an exceptional amount of depth and detail. I especially enjoyed the way she made only tiny changes to the logo to make it look much more sleek and sophisticated.

3rd place: Erziehung, die Spaß macht by happydesign

Happydesign also offered a well thought-out approach which was quite far developed, showing many page applications of the basic layout. A nice detail is the creative use of the puzzle element of the logo in his header images on the sub pages. (which unfortunately, you can’t see here)

It’s a bit of a shame I can’t show ALL of the desigs here on the blog, because like I said, the amount of work and effort put into the development of these screens was amazing.

In retrospect, the contest was an important one for us.  It sparked a very heated debate about rating behavior, fair play and the overall  rating and evaluation process on jovoto -  and its good to have this debate, hopefully helping us reach the next level in terms of providing a positive, encouraging environment for creative processes.

Considering this, I am all the more happy to see how fair and supportive all contest participants and winners have been on the final stretch and I want to send out a big thank you to all!
