Social Media Week Berlin

Why has it been so quiet lately on the blog? Are all jovoto’s blog authors hibernating?

We wish. But the truth is, jovotoans have been extra busy, organizing the upcoming Social Media Week Berlin. The annual SMW conference originated in New York City and will this year, for the first time, take place simultaneously in NYC, Berlin, London, San Francisco, Toronto and São Paulo between February 1st – 5th, 2010. The five day conference will explore the profound impact that social media has on culture, business communications and society at large.

jovoto, along with some fabulous partners in crime, decided to tackle the task of coordinating the Social Media Week in Berlin. Berlin offers one of the liveliest social media scenes throughout Europe. And since Berlin has always been unconventional, diverse and a little rough we are looking forward to put some of this charm into the planned events which will cover a wide range of topics such as music, entertainment, culture, politics or business. We’re expecting a week, full to the brim with panel discussions, workshops and parties. Among other things, we have organized a start up crawl, a design workshop exploring the Open Design movement, and a main SMWBerlin Confernce with an award ceremony, during which the first Social Media OSKR will be presented.
