The 3six5 project

Crowdsourcing seems to be – once again – the magical word. There’s a great blog up this year called the 3six5 project. Its a project wherein every day in 2010, a different author writes a blogpost about what’s going on in her or his life that day. Something like a crowdsourced diary for 2010.

Originally the authors were asked to keep their entries to 250 words, but as in the 365 spirit, this has been changed to 365 words. All the authors are instructed to somehow relate there post to what’s going on in the world that day.

The succes

Whats really great about this blog is the fact that it neatly mashes up three sorts of communication themes. Crowdsourcing, curation and life streaming. But on the other hand, it’s “just a simple journal”. Most likely the combination between the experimental aspect and the familiar, is the key to the success of this blog. So far, the project has enlisted a varied spectrum of personalities — from writers to comedians to TED speakers.

And also it is most interesting to see 365 days through 365 minds, all gathered at one place. Check out a interview with the founders of this project Len Kendall and Daniel Honigman here. And the original 3six5 blog is here.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether projects like 3six5 make sense in your opinion!

(And if your interested in being a author yourself, there are still a few dates available )
