Triple 8 Contest Update

There are some news from Triple 8! Here’s what they wrote us:

We wanted to share some news on the Triple 8 Contest. The most important news, is that we are putting a helmet into production. But before we tell you which helmet it is, we want to explain the process a little.

Following the contest, the Triple 8 team along with their riders voted on their favorites with some interesting results, as you can see below. Some similarities with the community, but some clear differences too.

Finally over the last 10 days, Triple 8 shared their top designs from these two sets along with a few more options, for a total of 10 designs. The people voting, are Triple 8 retailers, from some of the leading skate stores. They also had a slightly different perspective based on what they think will sell.

There are clearly some common designs among these 3 groups, so ultimately we made a decision to produce the design that floated to the top, Balloon Robot

by Cheshire. We’re looking forward to seeing how this is received and will have more details soon about how long it will take before it is available.  We are also exploring ways to do smaller volume manufacturing runs so they can include a few more designs as premium offerings.

We’ll be working with Cheshire to finalize the revenue sharing agreement, as well as the artwork. Congratulations and thanks to the Jovoto community for your great work and support.
