Platform update: better filters for everyone!

Ho ho ho, as some of you wily foxes might have guessed already, it’s time for another platform update.

This time we got down with new sorting options for the community, improved Karma visualization and introduced some nice pop-up messages for the newbies to keep better track of their Karma collecting activities.

Sorting options:

This is a great thing, you can now sort the community not only after recent activity, number of ideas and overall Karma, but also after Idea-Karma, Rating-Karma and Comment-Karma. This way we all get a much better picture of who is who and the quality of that person’s work. Remember: Karma reflects not only activity but first and foremost quality, e.g. the better your idea or the more useful (measured by thumbs up) your comment is, the more Karma points you earn for it.

Own Karma breakdown:

To also get a picture of oneself’s Karma breakdown, we now visualize the collected Karma of each community member much better. This way one can easily see in which area one should improve a little (so, for example if I were a community member I should definitely get down with some ideas…)

Pop-up messages:

As a new community member you have to collect 50 Karma points to have your ratings count. To make the run up to the magic 50 a wee bit more entertaining and to add some motivational aspect, we introduced little pop-up messages that show up after one collected the first 10, 25 and 50 Karma points. This way we also want to stress the importance of fair rating and show that fair behaviour is rewarded with good Karma.

On top of all these exciting new things we fixed a couple of bugs, eg the titles for new attachments are saved again – hurray.

Hope you all fancy these latest platform developments! Let us know!
