Latest Updates: Big Idea View and Summary

Whilst half of Germany seems to be on holiday, our development team is far from taking a break. Working tirelessly they managed to delight us with two new great features: the big idea view with speedy rating functionality included, and the most handy “Summary” feature.

Big idea view with “Speedy Rating”

As a new filter option in the Idea Overview, you now have the opportunity to enter the fast lane for rating. Just click on the “Speedy rating” button and get carried away by this quick and easy way of rating. And that’s how it works:

  • Click the “Speedy rating” button
  • Click on the idea thumb to see the other attachments
  • After you’ve rated the idea the next one will pop up
  • By hovering over the idea, the beautiful “Summary” text is being displayed!

Summary as a mandatory

When submitting an idea, you now have to add a short summary (max. of 100 chars) to your idea. You don’t need to go for a lenghty description anymore. And short summaries make it easier to scroll through all ideas in a contest and rate them. And the short summary makes the big idea view with speedy rating possible. So really, there’s a bunch of pretty good arguments for that!

I’ve noticed the speedy rating yesterday, and really appreciate it! I find it most useful in the “not yet rated”-show mode, so probably you can switch automatically to this mode when using the speedy rating tool?

Generally I find this a convenient tool. The only difficulty I see, is that people might be inclined to skip reading the concept and just rate the visuals. For concept based contests that would be a great disadvantage…

Hi Masswear and Janne, thanks a lot for your feedback, much appreciated!
@masswear: very good idea, will consider this and see if it’s possible to implement.
@Janne: no worries, there’s gonna be some news for concept based contests anyhow…

I like this tool, makes rating a lot easier, but I think a go back to the previous idea button is necessary. Sometimes I change my mind or I click by mistake on the wrong rating number.

The tool is great. However, it might reduce the number of comments because you don’t have that option there but have to enter each idea separately. Of course, people who really want to leave the comment will take time and make the effort to do that. I don’t know if what I’m saying is true, I hope not, because I really appreciate the comments. We’ll see.
