Polishing up the idea description box
A little bit out of schedule, but nevertheless highly welcomed: a small update of the idea desciption box with a lot of consequence.
To give enough space to the idea thumbs in the idea view, we optimized the way the idea description is displayed. Instead of showing an at times lengthy text block, only the first 400 characters of the idea description are being displayed. The reader can easily click on “…read more” to see the rest of the text.
This way, thumb, description and comments to the idea can be grasped at once.
This update carries some consequence for the content and structure of the “perfect” idea description:
- Summarize! Use the first 400 characters to introduce the whole concept.
- Be specific! Don’t get lost in details and make the concept understandable.
- Spark interesg! Wake the readers curiosity to keep her/him reading!
- Go wild – in the rest of the description text. You now have the space to do it!
