Tumblr #41
Inspiration tiiime!
I’m sure you have been sitting here all day refreshing the page, waiting for this weeks load of great stuff.. So I won’t talk about the weather and get straight to the point: the best of cool things we discovered this week on tumblr.
Starting with my personal highlight (that’s not a very good dramaturgy but ah well), these underwater beauties from Elena Kalis really fascinate me, so I hope you can share this enthusiasm.
With young models (like her own daughter) and vivid colors of the sea, to darker and more serious works, each and every one of these photographs takes us to a different world. Check out the girl with the flamingo or the boy eating watermelon! I have really developed a passion for those this afternoon. Also check out her website for more. Which one is your favourite?
As a contrast to that, we re-discovered Ai Weiwei’s “Studies in Perspective” , 1995 – 2003 , a series of black and white photographs.
And that was hopefully enough compensation (I’m tring to hold a balance here) because back we go to cute childrens portraits.
Not just any, but the ones made in the summer camp, organized by ROM (Royal Ontario Musum) in Canada.

They took the photos and decorated them as antient Egyptian portraits themselves. What a fun outcome!!
And now on to some advertising. Good advertising.
“The Rules of Advertising” by BBDP & Fils.
Check out for example this campaign of Heinz Ketchup by Viola Trentin . Soo cool.
Or this innovative approach by Vijay Sales – most probably a company selling barbeques

Cheap and effective. And most of all: fun! Thumbs up!
And now as a good bye I would like to sing you a song (tiiimmee toooo saaay goood-byeeee..) So just imagine that song. The instrument I would like to use for the music is this masterpiece “Audible Color” by Hideaki Matsui and Momo Miyazaki.

The sound is generated based on color detection by a web cam. Red, green and blue correspond with certain music notes. Different notes can be produced by mixing. The size of the dots influences the volume and frequency.
That’s it. GOOD – BYE for this week. I hope you have enjoyed this blogpost!

Very nice collection, different but so cool! Love it!
Cool, I’m really glad you love it Kijedi
