Professional Jury as another major new feature!

For the betacup, we are, for the first time, introducing the concept of a professional jury to jovoto. Here’s a brief explanation of that feature, which we hope to introduce to more contests in the future:

1. Juries are contest-specific and are comprised of members who are outstanding  designers, strategists or creative thinkers with a lot of experience and expertise in an area relevant to the contest task. The size of the jury board may vary per contest.

2. Jury Members will have a special indication in their profiles, and their comments will also be clearly recognizable. All Jury Members in a contest will be listed next to the contest briefing and below the contest guide, with their jovoto profile image and name.

3. Jury Members can comment and rate, but their ratings, just like jovoto team member’s ratings, don’t count. This means that a Jury Member can show which ideas he or she finds outstanding, but in the end it is still YOU, the community, that decides which ideas deserve the community prize money.

4. Jury Members can be contacted via private message if you have specific feedback requests concerning your idea. Jury Members are not responsible for answering any questions about contest rules, the brief or general procedures. Always contact the contest guide in these cases!

5. After a contest closes, each Jury Member selects their personal Top 10 out of the pool of ideas, to give some additional recognition to the creatives. It will be an interesting opportunity to get insight into several professional opinions.

6. In some contests, Jury Members collectively award an additional Jury Prize at the end:
At the betacup, this is a $10 000 award for the best idea!!

Isn’t it a brilliant new development? The community will benefit immensely from additional feedback, this will improve ideas and and open up room for constructive discussions. Hip hip hooray!

I like this idea for a lot of reasons. But, the main reason is because it will reassure the client as to the quality of the selections.

Thanks Yael, good to see you here! ;) Yes, indeed. And there’s actually a nice example of how this has worked in the past: The project we hosted for UNICEF also had an independent expert jury pick their favorite at the end… and they came to almost an identical set of best ideas as the jovoto community! Fantastic reassurance about the power of the jovoto community’s power.we reported about that here
