Workflow

After you’ve become a member of our community:

Now you can take an active part: read the various contest briefings, take a look at ideas already submitted, read comments and give your own feedback. And of course the best part: submit your own idea! Furthermore, we recommend that you to complete your profile and upload a profile picture.

Submitting ideas:

First of all, read the briefing thoroughly and give some deep thought to the assignment. If you’ve developed an idea, make sure it doesn’t violate any copyright rules and that no one could be offended by your idea (on this point, see also Terms & Conditions). You also need to provide all the necessary links to image sources etc.

Step by Step:

Once you’ve got all your material together, enter it into a form, which appears when you click the “Submit idea” button. In order to present the idea in its entirety, you can include several attachments, i.e. you can position several slides next to each other. The form provides you with information on the supported formats. There are special text boxes for the description of your idea and for optional information on copyright, image sources etc.

If everything looks good to you, click the submit button. If you want to update an existing idea, you are free to add more attachments at any time. Upload more slides or short videos, or update the description of your idea. Whenever there is something you don’t understand, or if you have any problems (e.g. technical difficulties) or questions, the jovoto team is always glad to help you out. If you wish to withdraw your idea, please contact us. You can remove single attachments by yourself at any time.

And here’s one more tip on how to best present and promote your idea: choose a meaningful and attention-grabbing teaser image. Thus, the other community members’ attention will be drawn to your idea. In the case of videos, an attractive teaser image is of particular importance, since you don’t want to have an irrelevant or meaningless freeze frame in your overview. It’s important to please the eye.

If you take an active part in discussions and comment on others’ ideas, you’re also more likely to receive constructive feedback. One of jovoto’s goals is to provide a platform for professionals to share their thoughts. It’s always great to get some feedback on your own ideas, therefore: talk 2 each other!

After you’ve submitted an idea:

Now it’s time to wait and see – and to develop your idea further. The other community members can check out, comment on and rate your idea. You should consider their suggestions, their kudos and their criticism, and, if necessary, incorporate them into your idea. In your personal preferences you can choose to be notified about new comments via dashboard messages or via e-mails.

Your idea is ranked according to the ratings it has received. In the briefing you can look up the submission deadline for the contest, how much longer ideas can be rated by the community, and how much money is awarded depending on the final ranking of an idea.

After the closing of a contest:

The winners of a contest, and thus the recipients of the prizes, are announced in the jovoto blog. Now the winning ideas are marked with a symbol and displayed as winners on the platform. In their profiles, the creatives can also see if one of their ideas has won a price and/or has been bought by a client.

Your idea is presented to the contest initiators. If they want to buy it regardless of the community voting results, jovoto handles the process acting as an agent between the client and the creative. You then cede the right to use the idea to the client at an agreed-upon price.

The creative retains the copyrights for all ideas not purchased by a client. The contest initiator is not entitled to use them, but the ideas are stored in the platform’s contest archive and remain accessible to logged-in users.
