    Hi Janne,

    there are diffrent ways to place the RFID-Tag on the cup, you can manufacture it with the cup so the tag is integrated or you can put a sticker on your mug, that also possible. The best method will be to integrate the tag in the production of the cup.

    Thanks for answering my question. Well integrating the tag in the production won´t work for me, as I am using old cups only (see my entry "My Worldcup"). Of course a sticker would do.
    But regarding your concept, I still would like to know, what news the customer is to share... ;o)

    The mug will only send a feed if you buy an coffee not when you enter the store.

    There are diffrent possibilites. The message will send automaticly, maybe: you are on starbucks xyz and you buy a latte xyz. So if a friend of yours is nearby he can join you. We working already on diffrent ideas for the social media integration and we don’t want tell something about it right now ;-) an update will come. With this concept we want to show the first step into way of social media in an easy way. The next updates will show some deeper looks in the possibilities.     We want also to make an sticker for already existing cups but we think it should happen that starbucks sell this mugs to create a trend with these customized cups. There also some problems with a sticker. Stickers and hot coffee don’t like each other ;-)

    Starbucks Cards Can Now be Managed via Facebook http://mashable.com/2010/04/30/starbucks-facebook-app/ We came up with some great ideas how to integrate that perfectly with Starmug - stay tuned.

    The key is finding the motivational elements that will work for everyone. Rewards will work for some and I think express order processing will work for others.

    Both of those exist already and they aren't effective in reducing paper cup usage. So how exactly will sticking a starbucks card into a cup change anything?
