Thank you for the love Qvistar. The material choices are actually "greener" than most people would think. Production processes have been around and they're very efficient.

@Janne, yes, the cup comes assembled. I'm sorry for the confusion. For some reason, I was unable to remove the rendering that shows the cup in pieces. It was meant to show all the components to make the cup.

It looks great but how practical for cleaning etc...?

I like the way the internal components work and that it can be completely broken down for cleaning. The yellow version reminds me of a very old McDonalds cup from the 70's or 80's http://pics.rubylane.com/graphics/shops/firstrate/10452.1F.jpg. Great idea. Sleek look! GeekMom~

This would have to be the nicest multi-part cup design I've seen - i'm surprised that they don't already use the liner concept in existing telescoping cups, it makes great sense, and seems a lot more reliable than using some sort of seal that would wear out. I personally find that in a few scenarios, multi-part cups are a bit big even when collapsed (my own brief was more a compromise focused on super compactness http://www.jovoto.com/contests/drink-sustainably/ideas/5390), but it's becoming more and more common for everyone to carry bags around these days, so that's becoming much less of an issue, and handbags are pretty much ubiquitous, so you've got half the population right there, and a very durable and attractive product. Also, allow me to second loving the renderings - looks like you might have used hypershot?

Thank you for all the complements.

@Danieltreacy. We use Photoworks (part of Solidworks) to render. This product is almost ready to go to production. We decide this cup to hold 12 oz. of liquid. The bottom is small enough to fit into most of the automobile cup holder and it collapsed down to 1/3 the original size.

I like it! Slides 4 & 5 w/ the last slide really made it clear to me (I too thought there was some sort of user assembly). Unlike some of the other entries I've seen this collapsible design really has a good solution to preventing spillage.
