First of all, I would like to thank Jovoto and Beta Cup for this opportunity to generate ideas and share with other creative people.
I tried with my idea to respond to questions that came to my mind when I first read the contest outline.
What does "drink sustainably" mean to me?
Why would the user keep his coffee cup?
Reusable Cup:
My idea of a reusable cup is : - a cup that can be stored very easily in bag, backpack, drawer,
- a cup composed with rigid material to avoid from breaking it,
- a cup that avoid the liquid leak.
In consequence, the cup's body is composed by an elastic memory plastic or silicone to permit the rigid aspect during the utilization and the soft one during the storage.
The cup body is weakened on some sections to allow it to blend (inside and outside).
To avoid the straightening up and the liquid leak in the storage situation the cup is tied up by a Velcro strap and there is a locking mechanism.
Make your cup Special :
Different colors for the cup depending on trend, events (Christmas...), and countries.
Possibility to personalize your cup buying humanitarian associations stickers (Unicef, WWF, Greenpeace, Red Cross...).
In fact, for me, drink sustainably it is not just reuse or recycle our coffee cup but it is also helping other causes for our planet.

Tip: in hypershot increase the shadow quality settings on the render page to get a smother ground edge shadow.

Concerning the closure , it was the difficult part. I honestly did this project in one week because I discovered the contest very late, so I didn't really had time for this compenent.
I preferred to focus on the way the cup collapse (still not sure it will work, that's why it is an idea) and the personalization of the cup.
The graphics are done with Rhino3D and hypershot then a little of illustrator.
About this context I wanted to know how high or low will my idea be rated, I have to say I am surprised and very pleased for the moment.

@modernrockstar : the "cup" position is this normal one, the material is quite rigid on its normal position but can be blended very easily (elastic memory plastic ). So the "unstable" position is the collapsed postion.
