Why don't someone else in the Jovoto community bring reality into the picture - it seems invariably I been the one to cause us to rethink our thinking = (

I am no business major but my observation is that businesses do not change their business model unless they create an environmental disaster like the one in the Gulf or produce unsafe products - Toyota comes to mind. That said it is not practical to think that SBUX will abandon its current business model - one that works quite well to start washing dishes but anything is possible.

OK lets play with some numbers:
SBUX has over 17000 stores worldwide - http://bit.ly/dxadmO - It needs to install and maintain commercial dishwashers in each location plus redesign stores to accommodate - not to mention hire extra staff buy soap use more water and energy to heat the water, etc.

Lets low-ball this with a measly $10000 USD per store to install a dishwasher - We are talking a whooping $170000000 USD just to get in the door. Anything is possible - Good luck!

I am giving this MAX "rate love" this because it successfully bamboozled its way into the top ten - in fact if it made it this far it should actually win.

    very nice presentation!!
I agree with you, we cant assume that many people have SUCH A STRONG wish to act green!! they might like to if it is easy, but without going out of the way! lets face it, consumers are lazy... good luck to you

    Thanks everybody for your feedback!

@Qvistar: Thank you for the calculation and the encouraging rating. I was actually assuming that all Starbucks stores do already have a dishwasher where they wash the normal "to stay" mugs?

I liked the video as well. In order to change your flavor perhaps a dial on the bottom would allow you to select your favorite blend? Say in the morning you want a chocolate latte, you simply dial it in by clicking the indicator to one of your top favorites. In the afternoon, you can dial in a different blend. Just a thought.

I really like the video and the concept. It provides an incentive for the customer to act more sustainable. In addition to that it is using existing materials and technologies. Like it!
