    Hi Jenlufer.
Cool Idea that really well addresses a lot of the customer issues with mugs. I'm concerned by the number of steps added to the baristas workflow. Adding that many steps will disrupt or increase the time involved in each individual order being made, which leads to overall increases in coffee shop costs. A few seconds added to a 30sec coffee making process can have a big impact on productivity. Any thoughts?

    Thanks Along for your question!

Once baristas are familiar with the KCC process, the KCC will actually decrease the time needed per order.

KCC process vs. current Starbucks process:

    KCC Time saving steps:
    1. “Step 2. Scan the barcode”: less time consuming then waiting for the customer to search their wallet for their Starbucks card or cash. If customer uses cash, the barista will also have to look for the correct change.
    2. Currently, behind the counter and next to the espresso and coffee machines are stacks of cups, lids and sleeves that the barista must refill throughout the day (these items also take up quite a lot of space). However, using the KCC requires the barista to refill only one item, the liner-lid, which also decreases the amount of space needed.

    Comparable steps:
    1. “Step 1. Unwrap sleeve” and “Step 4. Wrap sleeve” == Unfold cardboard sleeve and slip it onto the cup
    2. “Step 5. Attach Liner+lid” == Attach plastic cup lid

The only extra step for the barista is “Step 3. Unfold the KCC”. However, since Step 2 (Scan Barcode) and Step 3 (Unfold the KCC) can essentially be switched around, customers can do the unfolding themselves while waiting in line.

I submitted this similar idea in April
Though I don't feel that we need to design new cups or waste money and resources trying to figure out which biodegradable materials will be cost effective, and not cause more deforestation for crop demand ...etc. We just need to bring our own beverage containers...or use an in-house mug/ stay cup... The Key chain tag and a reusable cup is all you need!

This is an interesting idea. The part that sold me? The compartment for mints to combat coffee breath! You've done a lot of work here. Nice job.

    @sweetmelissa9978:
It's nice how we both came up with a keychain idea. However, a big problem that you haven't addressed is that... although reusable mugs have been available for many years (and there are so many different brands/types out there) the vast majority of customers still don't use them because it's inconvenient. Therefore, I designed the KCC to minimize this inconvenience by NOT having to worry about washing your mug, forgetting your mug at home, and having to carry around a bulky item.

Einen Kaffee aus einem eckigen Gefäß zu trinken wiederstrebt mir völlig. Daher diese schwache Bewertung

Really nice 3D movie presentation! Very proffesional.
    Good luck!

P.S. I would appreciate if you take a look and comment on my ZocDoc ideas. Thanks!

Somehow the video doesn´t work... Seems a bit complicated to me.

It looks pretty cool, and really creative. Starbucks would have to be pretty revolutionary to be ok with changing the whole shape of the cup customers drink from. Maybe they are! Nice way of avoiding the re-usable problem of forgetting to bring back your cup. I saw that you mentioned it doesn't need to be washed- how would that be possible though?

All the best and apologies for only getting around now to comments and rating.
