That is not a problem. You guys can have your happy little community. I don't have any issues with it, but the point is that Triple Eight encouraged us to come here and vote.

I did not bash Dizzy's design work in fact I complimented it. What I did call out was his behavior.

So if you want to have a community for just designers that's fine, just don't have companies sponsor public contests.

It is as simple as that.

what wikipedia means for bashing isnt interesting for me, here on Jovoto means it that the idea is bullshit, no nice work, please begin again. And this is the fact. In all contest are ideas that perhaps doesnt like any consumer but the work in a view of a designer is very good. Look at the old contests the most selling ideas wasnt #1 of the community. Perhaps you can understand dizzys frustration about bashing good work.

    happydesign, dizzydwar & AnnaNuthaThang,

First of all, this is a Triple 8 contest, hosted by jovoto. As such, this contest is advertised on the Triple 8 website with instructions on how to participate. It mentions creating an account and voting even if you don't plan on submitting an idea. In other words, it gives you a link to make a jovoto account without submitting any kind of portfolio. So, it's quite obvious that Triple 8 is looking for designers AND consumers alike to vote (which means the designers alone are not supposed to vote the #1, as happydesign suggested).

Secondly, if you bothered at all the read the link texastee posted above about rating, you'd know that every rating is known and suspicious rating behavior is looked into. So "bashing" a designer's work by rating it low doesn't work because the jovoto team will see it and fix the rating accordingly.

I understand dizzy's fusteration, especially when I first joined this contest and saw that he had 3 times the votes than the average person in the contest.

As for "bashing", rating is an opinion. Some people will like it some people won't. But as many said, it doesn't fit the briefing....isnt that what the contest is about? It's not only about a good design but does it follow the contest rules. If anything it "shouldn't" count because the mandatory 2D template was never done for his design, and the only thing saving him is that texatee omitted this rule.

So I dunno......Maybe Jovoto should just fix their rating system then if someone is gonna vote another person low for not following the briefing and get mad about it because they didn't really follow through with the rules.

Ok, the critic goes to jovoto, I dont understand the invitation from the Triple8 Website, when the normal registration regulations are other. I thinki ts not good for the Jovoto Idea.

from the sounds of it jovoto was just hired to host the contest for triple 8 so therefore jovoto would be abiding by triple 8's guidelines for who can and cant participate. Also it sounds like drizz needs to learn how to take constructive criticism like all artists need to instead of just crying about it.

In all honesty i think everyone should just chill and drop this whole ordeal and let the contest finish up on smooth waters.

    texastee contest guide

jovoto allows clients on special occasions to circulate a temporary login link so it is possible for them to activate creatives in their network to join the platform. This has been done on some occasions in the past, with contests hosted by German clients as well as now in the US. So apart from regular applications and registrations (which, btw, do NOT require sending in a portfolio, while sending in a good portfolio can speed up the process) this is one channel by which the jovoto community grows.

A larger number of new active participants of course requires special attention from us, the community guides. We need to keep our eyes open, explain the rules, and see to it that they're being followed.

We have done so very carefully in this contest, and intervened in cases where there has been obvious breach of these rules.

Everyone who participates at jovoto needs to be aware that this is an online platform, with all the dynamics, advantages and disadvantages this might bring along.

Rules and regulations are important, I think jovoto is already set up well, and we're constantly learning, as developers of this platform, on how to improve. But, as I've said before, the community must also regulate itself to some extent.

So, with only one day left in this contest, I hope we can all take @KoaAkua advice and see how Triple 8 decides. As I said above, they decide which helmet they like best and wish to produce. It may or may not be the community winners.
