Increase brand engagement through crowdstorming

The Ricola Design Collection

Ricola is a family-run company which produces high-quality cough drops and teas made from herbs cultivated in the Swiss mountains. The brand’s international success is due to its drive to combine tradition with innovation. In 2014, Ricola teamed up with jovoto to extend its innovation beyond its product to packaging – and increase brand engagement in the process.

“jovoto helps us to not only connect with their trend-savvy international community, but also to the creativity of Ricola’s own fanbase.” Twitter

– Andreas Michaelis, Head of Corporate Marketing (CMO), Ricola

Ricola fans and jovoto’s community were invited to submit ideas for the design of four limited edition boxes. Fans were engaged start to finish – from submitting ideas to deciding which designs would be produced. With my design for Ricola, I wanted to show the beauty of herbal plants which isn’t visible to the naked eye.
