Aim, shoot, score: Your 2024 bid logo!

Design an inspiring logo for Germany’s bid to become host of the European Football Championship 2024. €14,000 prize pool

Design an inspiring logo for Germany’s bid to become host of the European Football Championship 2024.

Background

International sporting events unleash a powerful social energy. They contribute to the creation of a collective identity, bring people together, and create a cause for shared celebration – regardless of nationality, culture, or religion. Many of us will still remember images, moments, and emotions from the "Sommermärchen" (fairytale summer) of the FIFA 2006 World Cup hosted by Germany. And we don’t just mean the sporting highlights, but the unique collective euphoria – of the huge fan parties that took place everywhere from the stadiums to streets and the nation’s living rooms. Everyone was a part of this unique event with the motto "A time to make friends." We want to host the UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany and once again create a sense of togetherness and joy in the heart of Europe and celebrate a reunion with (football) friends from all over the world.

Goal

Now we want to apply to bring the UEFA EURO 2024 to Germany. To do so, we want to rekindle the enthusiasm for a European football championship in Germany and to convey this in our communication. This is why we need a visual brand identity for the application to become a host country. It will be featured on the application documents and all communication right up until the decision is made about where the UEFA EURO 2024 will be held.

Task

Specifically, we’re looking for a logo that will become the centerpiece of our communication during the application phase.

Our motto is: "We want to get Germany excited for the UEFA EURO 2024. And all of Europe for Germany." For us, this means the UEFA EURO 2024 should be a "tournament for everyone." A place for unity without borders, and a time full of positive emotions. For the people of Germany, but also for all European football fans taking part in this festival of football.

This is why we’re looking for a visual logo that conveys the following messages:

  • Community: Because a European football championship brings together 24 nations and millions of Europeans.
  • Euphoria: Because the anticipation before a big festival is huge – and the enthusiasm during the event even bigger.

We are open to all logo designs that meet the requirements specified below. There are no visual elements or CI guidelines to consider. The logo for the German application for the UEFA EURO 2024 should be made entirely by you. It will be used throughout the entire, hopefully successful, application phase (incl. communication, commercials, and merchandise). After the application phase, the logo will be replaced by the official UEFA tournament logo with the UEFA EURO 2024 word and figurative mark.

It is important to us that this logo not only comes from the community, but is also endorsed by the broader public. This is why the best 25 designs from the initial voting phase will be presented to a professional jury. They will then select five candidates whose work will be put to the public vote throughout Germany. The winning logo will therefore be chosen by football fans.

Tonality

  • Engaging – we want to demonstrate our excitement and inspire others
  • Professional – we do organization, but not bureaucracy
  • Open – we are a friendly host to all
  • Confident – we know what we’re good at, but we’re never arrogant

Target group

  • "German football": The general public and anyone who loves football
  • All football fans across Europe

Guidelines, regulations, comments

Mandatory requirements

The bid logo (figurative mark) should contain the following:

  • Reference to football and the European Championship
  • Reference to Germany as a friendly, cosmopolitan host

The bid logo (figurative mark) can contain the following text:

  • "EURO"
  • "2024"
  • "GERMANY"

Bid logo designs will be excluded from the competition which:

  • Include the "UEFA" word/figurative mark
  • Violate ethical and moral principles
  • Do not conform to the values of UEFA (fair play and respect)

Original work / Use of (image) material:

To ensure that the client can consider your design for public voting, submit designs that are your original work. This means that no third-party materials should be incorporated into your design (i.e. stock material, Creative Commons material, etc.). You should own the full and exclusive rights of use, and if licensed, the rights can be transferred to the client.

Inspiration material is legitimate as long as it is just that – for inspiration. This means that slight changes to the original - or retracing stock material with your own vectors - does not count as original work. If you are unsure, ask yourself, "If the creator of the source saw it - would he or she immediately recognize their work, and would he or she be able to take legal steps?” If the answer is, "Yes," then you shouldn’t use it.

Read all about original work and how to use inspiration material in order to create original work here (“Third Party Material 101”) and in this blogpost

For more visit our jovoto Support Center.

Required file format

  • Please deliver a black-and-white version of your logo on a neutral white background and a color version (4C) of your design on a white background.
  • If you are among the 25 winners, you will be required to provide an open-layered file (preferably in an EPS and PSD format).

Timing & awards

1. Submission & rating-only phase

  • HEADS UP: This is a very short project! The submission phase is less than two weeks and ends on September 4th, 5:00 PM (Berlin time) -> Please keep this timeline in mind when developing and tweaking your designs!
  • A six-day rating-only period will follow directly afterwards, which ends on September 10th, 23:59 PM (Berlin time).
  • The TOP 20 designs from the community voting plus an additional 5 designs picked by the client (Client's Shortlist) will go into an expert round.
  • These 25 creatives will receive €200 each plus football perks worth about €100*!

2. Expert voting phase:

  • From the TOP 25, an expert round chosen by the client will then select their favorite 5 logo submissions (Jury's Favorites).
  • These 5 creatives will receive an additional €800 each plus football perks worth about €200*!

3. Public voting phase:

  • The 5 designs chosen by the jury will move on to the public voting, which will be held by the client (on an external platform).
  • The winner of the public voting will receive a total of €5,000 (Client’s Choice (incl. license fee) / DFB Award) plus football perks worth about €2,000*!

* The specifications and handling of all perks will be directly managed by the client.

Legal Overview

Here is a brief overview of what is particularly important to be aware of:

1. When entering an idea for a project, jovoto as well as the client may display, share, and print it for evaluation or presentational purposes.

2. There is a three-month exclusivity period:

  • In which you may publish and share your idea on other websites or social media and ensure it is clearly labelled as a submission created on jovoto.
  • In which you ensure that the client is able to exclusively license your design.
  • After which you may offer your submission to others and publicly display it (without the client's logo).

3. Please ensure that you have noted any and all third party material you used - including the source where it can be found.

4. When uploading an idea, you agree to jovoto's general terms of use as well as the specific project terms (see under the brief).

5. The project terms clarify rights for your upload as well as the details that go into effect if and when you are informed that the client wishes to license your design.

6. Please carefully check and review your submission and the attachments before uploading them - they can only be deleted within the first 24 hours.

7. This is a project with further provisions. Please check out the project terms, paragraph 6.

8. There is no legal claim to the actual usage of the winning logo for the German application to the UEFA EURO 2024. We ask for your understanding that the client has to reserve the right to consider other solutions.

9. Legal recourse is excluded.

Halftime Feedback

Dear Creatives of the World,

We are half through the project. How exciting! We have just talked to the client (DFB, Deutscher Fußball Bund = German Soccer Federation) and they were really impressed by the diversity, creativity and passion for football you all showed. Bravo!

Looking at your designs and counting the remaining days (5 days left!), here is what the client advises you to do and not do, to help you score a winning logo:

1. DO NOT use any reference to UEFA: no UEFA logo, name, cup or other symbols in your design!

This is stated in the briefing and we want to repeat and clarify this here.

The logo which you are creating is the logo for Germany’s bid to host the tournament in 2024 – not the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament logo. This means it should reflect the values of Germany as a potential hosting nation – and not the values of the tournament itself (i.e. “winning the cup”).

You are not allowed to incorporate any UEFA brand symbols in your logo. First and foremost the winner trophy!

If you already have a trophy that resembles the actual UEFA EURO cup (or any other cup!) in your current logo, please remove it otherwise your logo cannot be considered for the selected 25 and hence, for the final public voting.

2. EXCEPT... like this:

The only place that “UEFA” (name/text, not logo!) can appear in your logo is in combination with “GERMANY CANDIDATE FOR”. Very important: “GERMANY CANDIDATE FOR” has to be visually more dominant than the “UEFA EURO 2024”!

If you’ve already submitted designs, ideally you update them according to this new design rule. If not, that’s ok. However, if you are now submitting a new design, please use this new rule.

3. The eagle is widely associated with the German national team – best is to avoid using it.

While it would make sense for you to use the eagle from the German flag to communicate “Germany” in your logo, using the eagle is problematic for two reasons.

First, the eagle is actually part of the emblem of the German national team, and hence your logo with the eagle could be mistaken to stage the German national team. Which is the exact opposite of what the logo wants to support: community in football across European nations.

And second, the eagle is a national symbol - so, a very emotionally laden element, which if chosen to be incorporated, it needs to be in a very creative and suiting way. Hence, we recommend to better make your life easier and avoid using it.

4. Football player silhouettes and imagery – avoid using them, unless you can create really unique ones!

Many of you have included dynamic and athletic football player images, sleek winding, sporty figures.  While these are of course meaningful and inspirational elements, the client feels that they all look quite familiar, as this has been done a lot in the past. ;) If player figures play a role in your logo, can you come up with silhouettes and images that feel fresh, unique and different?

5. Does your design have a story?

Many of your logos look pretty cool, but it’s still unclear what exactly they’re expressing or aiming at.

We are here to help you clarify that. Consider the use of star symbols for instance. What do the stars stand for when you use them? If you were to use 24 stars to portray the 24 participating nations of the Euro 2024 that would be understandable and acceptable.

If you used 4 stars to convey the amount World Cup titles Germany has won – that would be unfitting because it’s not the World Cup and it’s also too competitive and shows too much pride. If you use stars because they look nice and serve no other purpose – give them a clear purpose or find a different inspiring form suited to tackle the task of this project.

In any case it is super important to capture the client’s imagination by a) creating a great design but b) also explaining your design choices! This is why filling out the questions in the idea upload form is very important to the client.

6. And don’t forget:

Your logo should express passion, excitement, enthusiasm and a sense of unity and community. It’s not about the glory of competing and winning. Germany wants to present itself as a football loving nation in the heart of Europe. A country that is honored and thrilled to be entrusted with the responsibility of hosting a fantastic football celebration that is dear to many Germans – and many, many more Europeans!

Don’t always play it safe. Can you develop a football-themed logo that pushes traditional boundaries, a logo that dares to be different? Check out what has been done and used in the past and try to take a step further and be truly unique!

Keep it simple and show us your clear design line around:

  • Community: Because a European football championship brings together 24 nations and millions of Europeans.
  • Euphoria: Because the anticipation before a big football festival is huge – and the enthusiasm during the event even bigger.

Thank you! You are the best!

Diana

Dear Creatives of The World,

And fans of football..! Isn’t this an exciting moment?! This is your chance to make the logo for Germany’s bid as the host for the 2024 UEFA European Championship. This logo is as important as the bid itself (graphics speak 1000 words, don’t they?!) and will be seen by many football fans as well.

We have many prizes for you - both monetary and money-can’t-buy! But first, please make sure to read the brief. In there you will find a clear timeline of what will happen. And great guidelines for your design. By reading the brief you will avoid missing important details, or going off-track and, hence, wasting precious time.

If you want to participate, I recommend you start drawing as soon as you finish the brief. This project only runs for 12 days! So, you have 12 days from now to submit and update your design.

It is a pleasure to be your Guide. If there are any questions, please leave a comment under the brief or send me a personal message.

Let’s start! Diana

Hi Diana! Cool Project once again! How many ideas/ Logos can one person submit for this project? Thx

Cool to hear that! Up to 10, Tigersan.

Hi Diana, Is there no English versions of the download material? Or is this only open to German participants? Thanks

Dear tcurtisart,

This beautiful challenge is open to everybody. Because the brief is in English, we've made it available (only in this special case) in German as well as downloadable PDF. The Project Terms are also in English, so if someone wants to read them in German, then we've made them available in German as well.

So essentially you as an English speaking person only need to read the brief and Project Terms available here in English. There is no extra material to download (as usually in other projects of ours).

Does that answer your questions?

Cheers, Diana

Hey everyone,

I already see designs the first designs coming in. That's great! Since this is such a short project and things will run very fast, make sure that you have your jovoto profile information complete as soon as today (especially full name, verified ID, address, email and phone number, payment info etc.). Simply click on your name (top right) and then click Settings, and that's where you will find all that information.

And a quick reminder to save you time – if you are using a background color, image or effect, make sure to also upload your logo on white background as well. In this way all of us, including the client, can see and appreciate the logo in its full power, independent of context. Also don't forget to upload a black & white logo version on a neutral (white) background.

It is all mentioned in the brief and it will save you time later in the process.

Have an awesome day! Diana

Hi Diana, I have a question: The Message of the logo should be Community and Euphoria. And it should include Germany (colours or symbol) and Football. So my question is - is there maybe a town, which we can use symbolic for germany? Like Frankfurt skyline (DFB) or Brandenburger Tor in Berlin (Final game)? Or can we use the german eagle? I am only asking because of legal issues or problems if we use some of this trademarks. Thanks :)

Thank you for your questions, DENKdifferent. Will get back to you on that ASAP.

Cheers, Diana

Dear DENKdifferent,

Thank you again for your questions. It is best to stay away from specific cities or local attractions. It would be too local for the purpose of and expectations from this logo. The eagle and similar symbols regarding Germany are of course ok if they are well integrated in the design.

Anything else I can help you with? Diana

Dear Creatives,

While you are at your desk, most probably crafting on Germany’s next bid logo for UEFA EURO 2024, I am just making sure that you have read these lines from the brief: "Original work / Use of (image) material:

Read all about original work and how to use inspiration material in order to create original work here (“Third Party Material 101”) and in this blogpost.

If you have used Third Party material in your logo design and /or for presentation purposes, please ensure that you have noted any and all third party material you used - including the source link where it can be found, in the idea upload form."

I cannot stress the importance of being transparent with your sources. It is your responsibility and yours only to mention them, considering the public mode of this project, and a client who will license that work.

Cheers, Diana

Hi Diana, I would like to know about the answer for the question of DENKdifferent, about the symbolic icons of Germany like monuments or its eagle. Because I didn't find the answer explained here. Thank you!

Dear Sandra, please see my reply above. ;)

Hello. :) Could the Admin please explain the following paragraph:

"Legal Overview Here is a brief overview of what is particularly important to be aware of:

  1. There is a three-month exclusivity period: *** In which you may publish and share your idea on other websites or social media and ensure it is clearly labelled as a submission created on jovoto. *** In which you ensure that the client is able to exclusively license your design. *** After which you may offer your submission to others and publicly display it (without the client's logo).

  2. Please ensure that you have noted any and all third party material you used - including the source where it can be found.

...

Q1: Regarding #3, it said that no other material should be used. What 3rd party material are you refere to, here?

Q2: Regarding #2, I'm not sure I understand. Am I allowed to share my logo design or not? If no, never? If yes, when? Starting when, ending when? I understand nothing!, not a zip.

... could you clarify? Thank you!

Kind regards.

Hi Stefan, 3rd party material can also be a font. Some fonts also have to licenced first, before it can be used in such a logo. :)

Dear Stefan,

Thank you for your questions. I am happy to answer them for you:

Q1. It depends on what you are aiming for:

If you are not interested in running for the public voting (the top 5 chosen designs) and, hence, for the big prize, you can use third party materials in your logo design (images, vectors, etc. – as they are or modified) and still participate, but only as long as you share with us the links to those images, vectors etc.

If you want to be considered for the public voting and the big prize, then you must not third party material (as it is or modified!).

Note: In both cases you are allowed use third party images for presentation purposes (i.e. background), as long as you must share the source (links) where it can be found. And you are allowed to use fonts (maybe you even find some cool ones "free fonts for commercial use"). Always mention the used font(s).

Q2: Basically that says that you can share your design during and after the project on social media. The "three months exclusivity" refers to the fact that during the project and three months after the project has ended you cannot sell the design to someone else, you must keep it for the client (together with all the necessary files), in case the client wants to license your idea. After those 3 months, you can of course go ahead and sell it, if your design has not won the big prize. (that's in simple words what it means).

If there are still unclarities, please ask away!!

Cheers, Diana

Hi Diana, I couldn't find the sizes that we need to use for make our designs, could you tell me if there a specific size? Thank you!

Hi, Sandra. Look here https://goo.gl/UkXN35 ... Size isn't given. It should be relatively similar like logos from the past.

Dear Sandra,

If you are normally designing logos, then the typical size works. However, if this is a new challenge for you, and don't usually create logos, I will check the recommended size with the client and get back to you. Okay?

Tomas, thank you for jumping in.

Cheers, Diana

Hi again,

The size of the logo, in itself, that gets uploaded by you here is not so relevant. You can decide for yourself what works best (google for instance for standards). What is important is that, if you are among the 25 winners, you will be required to provide an open-layered file (preferably in an EPS and PSD format), and here the vector files are scalable, so the client can use them as they use. Basically the logo should work just as well in a small size on a letter, and in a big size as a big printed banner. ;)

I think you get the point. Please let me know if you have further questions. Diana

Hi, Diana. :)

Yes, I have a new question that I see Sandra Martinez asked as well. So... What is the preferred format and image size?

Thanks!

Dear Stefan, please see my reply above (to SANDRA).

Is this project still opened? I want to participate .

Yes it is! You can submit until Sep 04, 2017 at 17:00 (Berlin time).

Hello dear Diana, first of all I find very amazing and challenging this project, thanks for bringing this to us here in the platform. I know this project especially has a lot of audience and new people is join the platform for it, I think it will be important to remark how the community raking works since I've noticed a lot of bashings on my idea. I think it's very important for people like me that have been around for some years on Jovoto. I think the fair rating and the monitoring of rankings, these kind of prices and feedbacks and the learning of other amazing creatives are the reason we've stayed around. I wouldn't want this to become a platform like the others that are around, Jovoto is very special for me.

I 2nd this. The ratings are very weird, clearly worse designs have better ratings than the much better ones. Or at least top 100 shows it that way.

Hi Denisse, I have just posted something.

Hi Filip, at the moment there are 118 submissions. So the top 100 is not so relevant yet, as the top 100 is 90% of the submitted ideas. This is why it might look a bit strange.

Hi everyone,

Since many of you are new and some of you have already started voting, please know that we will also have a Rating Only period after the Submission period ends. However, if you are already casting votes on ideas, please be fair.

What does fair rating mean at jovoto? Here are some guidelines on what you should consider:

  • Rating is anonymous. It is not allowed to trade ratings on jovoto. Even if you love an idea and you gave it a 9 or a 10, please don't mention that to the idea owner.
  • Always be fair and objective! Rate the ideas, rather than the people who submit them.
  • If you have friends on the platform and you find it hard to be objective, it’s better not to rate their ideas.
  • Be sure to read and consider the creative brief. It is your decision how much that affects your rating.
  • Rate using the full scale from 1-10. By giving a diverse range of ratings you broaden the range of ratings and use the full spectrum and power of the rating system.
  • The more you rate, the fairer the result – more people more opinions. Broader spectrum.
  • Remember to change your rate if the idea owner has improved his or her idea.
  • Any unfair ratings will be disqualified during the Monitoring period, and won't be considered in the final ranking.

To read more on rating, click here or go to our Support Center

Have an awesome day & weekend! Diana

Thank you so much for this Diana, you're awesome! :)

Thank you so much Diana!!

hello plz i want to participate but why :/ help me plz

What do you need to know, Morad?

Diana I have created my design and do not know how to submit it in Germany logo euro 2024

Hi Morad There is a button on the top-right of page, "Submit Idea" just click on it and wait for another page to upload, where you need to put all of the informations

Hi Morad,

It seems like you figured out how to upload an idea, but when you have another question you can always check out our FAQ for creatives here. There's a lot of information about the platform and how it works :)

All the best, Jess

Hi Diana 1 are we allowed to submit more than one Idea ? 2 are we obligated to buy the license of the fonts which we need to use ?

I did not pay attention to it thank you

You can submit up to ten designs

Thanks Hilman for your answer also i need Diana's answer, it's good to be sure(me) 100% sometimes

Hi Abderrahim, Let me answer your questions! 1. Each person can submit up to 10 designs 2. We don't expect you to licence a font for your logo. We suggest using a font the is eligible for commercial use.

If there is anything else we can help with, just let us know! Best Jess

Hi Diana, Plz i ve a two questions ! Is anyone ( Public , Jovoto's Designer ) allowed to vote ? And when the voting dates 'll starts ? Thanks .

Hi there,

Anyone who has a jovoto account can participate in the design process by giving feedback, submitting designs and rating ideas. You can rate throughout the submission period, which helps the creator understand if they should continue to develop their idea and during the rating period.

When someone rates an idea though, it's important that they take part in the whole jovoto process. You can read more about the rating system here.

All the best Jess

Hi Diana, The color version required (4C) is a CMYK file? Just to confirm =)

Hey there! We're checking with the client to be sure and we'll get back to you asap! Best Jess

Dear Ivan, ideally both CMYK (good for print) and RGB (good for web/screens).

Got it. Huge thanks, Diana =)

Hey Diana,

Before I submit the logo proposal, I have one question:

I am interested in buying some mockups (like T-shits, football ball, etc) for my logo presentation. For a better understanding of my concept, I would like to have my logo represented on some mockups, it provides at least part of the functionality of a system and enables testing of a design.

If i mention the source of the mockups, am I allowed to used them in my presentation?

Hi Costin,

That's a great question. You can use third party material to display and present your design if you source it in your idea overview summary. You can read more about third party material and how you can use it here in this FAQ.

If you have any other questions, just let me know! Best Jess

Hi Diana,

Could we use the Euro cup to create this logo ? (I ask myself is the cup is a part of UEFA identity or not)

Thanks !

Hey there, We're checking in with the client and we'll get back to you asap! Best Jess

Hi Diana, One designer how much designs can submit? Thanks!

Hi Tomi, You can submit up to 10 designs. Have fun! Best Jess

So we are allowed to use wallpapers of stadiums, textures, etc... we find on google, to present how our logo would look like, as long as we add URL in our submission where we got the image, or not?

@Igor , you shouldn't use any others material because the event's team can use google too and use tge same material you wanted to use . It's known that you should make each layer by yourself using ur abilities on designs ..

Tnx Mouafak, I saw people using UEFA wallpapers in their presentations, so I wondered...

Hi Igor,

To be considered for the final logo, you should not use any third party material in the logo itself, but if you'd like to present your logo in a setting (on a billboard, t-shit etc.) you may use third party material, just make sure you source it. You can use free third party material sites like: Pexels or Creative Commons to be on the safe side! Does that help answer your question?

Best Jess

Hey, Plz i've just received a mail about verifying my photo ID, and i didn't understund it, can anyone please explain what it about this ID photo ?

Hi khalil,

That's a great question. We encourage jovoto creatives to verify their IDs so we're sure that everyone behind their accounts are who they say they are. You can read more about verified IDs here!

Best Jess

Hi Jess, Please i have a question, What does the number before the Rank word means ? As an example : 5. Rank, 3.08 Rating,12 Ratings, 12 Comments... What does the 5 means ? Thank you in advance !!

Dear khalil,

"5. Rank" means that that idea is raking on the 5th place, among all submitted ideas in the project. ;)

Cheers, Diana

Hi ! IWhat does that tonality in the brief mean ? I didn't understand why it's mentioned there (to use it indirectly for example ??)

Dear Nacer,

The "tonality" is all about the emotion that the design should express. You are correct - it is to be used (communicated) indirectly.

I hope this answers your question, Diana

Wow – lively project ...

Have you considered maybe extending the rating period so there's time to get through all the entries?

Unfortunately we cannot extend nor the submission period, nor the voting period. The deadlines are more than fixed in this project. Even the monitoring is only 1 day. ;)

Hi ! What's the (4C) color version ??

It just means that the logos should be delivered ideally both in CMYK (good for print) and RGB (good for web/screens), dear Nacer.

Hello! The button loaded with work does not seem to work. I can not upload my work, there is any anomaly?

Hey Edison,

That's strange! If you still have a problem with that, please send me a personal Message here on jovoto, and I will be happy to help.

Cheers, Diana

Hai, Diana! There are several question in the submitting pages that we had to answer. But, i don't quite understand on the creative approach one. What do the client means " PLEASE DESCRIBE THE CREATIVE APPROACH YOU TOOK TO YOUR DESIGN." Is it about how the logo would be printed? Any special materials, effects, printing techniques or printing technology?
Or it is about how we get the idea? How we develop the idea? The origin of our logo?

Dear Lee, that question is about the idea behind your design. The bigger story.

Dear Creatives of the World,

With 5 days left for new submissions and updates, I am here with client feedback for you – please read it here.

You will find essential(!) information about the UEFA logo and name, about the trophy (don't use it! ), the German eagle, football player silhouettes and imagery, and more.

Make your update & keep your logos coming. And by the way, a big THANK YOU from the client to you! You rock!

PS: if you need to delete old slides (after you've made for instance an update), please send me a personal message with the link to your idea and the number of the slide(s) that need to be removed. Also, if you have further questions, I am happy to read your messages and get back to you ASAP.

Diana

Hi Diana,

I have 2 questions if you can help me: 1. How can I see a real top of the works because for now, I don't think the filter it's working on the website. 2. May I receive a feedback regarding my football player silhouette I used in my third submission? I want to know if is fresh enough, unique in his way. Also, I have a to use the word "candidate"? or any synonymous of it? personally, the "electioneering" takes me on the football side : ) Dunno, maybe it's just me :)

Thanks in advance! Daniel

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for your questions. The filters work as they should, including the top 100. Or did you mean something else? Please remember that rating and votes on jovoto are anonymous until the winners are announced.

Will take a look. But you should know best. And you must use the word "CANDIDATE" and not another word. ;)

Enjoy, Diana

Hahaha ok: so no cup, no eagle, no silhouettes ... so I guess there is nothing left. I'm glad we can use colors and forms haha.

You can still win community prizes using the cup and the eagle right?

It sounds like that. But I already see that the creatives who have updated their ideas have found even more interesting alternatives. You can win with the eagle, but not the cup. :)

No way ! If you read carefully you understand their side in terms legality. tomanity and their agenda the DFB dissociates itself from : "Bundesadler und Urnen"already in the first place !!

Is it important to have done the whole description of the project in english? Is german enough or an advantage? Thanks!

It should be in English. Your idea gets voted by a huge percentage of non-German speaking creatives. So better to have it in English, Tony.

woah i posted my idea like an hour ago without reading this and luckily im ok with everything except the silhouettes but i gave them a unique idea and design :P

i mean without reading the halftime feedback i read the brief a long time ago XD

That'S just awesome, ;)

Dear Creatives,

Please note: All updates and alternative design/text versions of an idea should be attached to the same idea. Please do not submit it as a new idea.

A new idea should be submitted only when you have a completely new design.

Thank you! And if you have already submitted updates as a new idea, please attach it to the initial idea, and send me a Message to remove your "update" idea.

All the best from Berlin, Diana

what can i do if I did a mistake in the logo design Concerning the regulations? Can i add the true design? Or re upolad the ideas

I want to delete the Mistake design in my ideas options

If you saw a mistake in your design and want to solve that, you do the following: you upload the new image(s) and then, if you don't see the DELETE button next to the old images, you write to me the exact slide number(s) that need to be deleted, and I do that for you.

hi Diana When does the voting process begin now, or later? and How it is done and how to to delete some ideas here about (Aim, shoot, score: Your 2024 bid logo!) and thank you so much ;)

Dear Morad, the Voting Only period of the jovoto community (that's the creatives like you here on jovoto) starts on Monday at 5pm (Berlin time). For the rest of the process please scroll up in the brief to the "Timing & awards" section. ;)

Done, Peter. And if you have more, just send me directly a Message here on jovoto. ;)

Can i add Many Ideas? So how much?

Hi everyone,

Seeing how busy you all are on your design desks, I want to make sure that you remember that the ideas using the UEFA logo or name which do not follow this rule will be excluded (removed) from the project before or just after the starting of the Voting Only period. So please, if you've used the UEFA logo or name in your design, update it now (attach it as a new image and send me a Message to remove the old one).

One more important thing: Don't use a cup (trophy) in your design, otherwise your design will not be able to win (be in the selected 25)!

I am sure you all know that by now, but I just want to make sure.

Here you can reread the client feedback. ;) Enjoy your evening, Diana

Hi Diana

I thought one need to be added: Swoosh people logo (with or without ball) are too generic too. Because they are everywhere on Google.

https://www.google.com/search?q=community+logo&safe=active&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjr6q2q54PWAhUILY8KHQdOCh8Q_AUICigB&biw=1760&bih=867

It has very serious copywright issue about who the first person design the logo and claim the ownership.

'mcbubu

You are right ! UEFA owning some of those copyrights too. I wonder anyway how many design use those flat overused clichees. Especially the gostlike ones come so cupped.

Too many :)..

on some website designing logo using swoosh people techniques IN ANY ways is forbidden and the designer(s) got a warning for account suspension.

Hi there Budi and Ulrich, thank you for the conversation. Since it is important to leave the space under the brief for direct posts from the Guide or for specific brief questions or technical questions, we have opened for such topics that also need their space to be explored, a forum: you can find it here. You can click on "new post" and then share the thread link with everyone here by clicking reply to my message. Thank you!

Dear Diana ! I do see that Budis comment do extremely concers the status of this project and therefore it might be very helpful ! and is exactly on the right spot. !!!

I will write you and Budi a personal message as, although I am trying, I am not understanding the topic very well.

Cheers, Diana

i have question my rank not liek the number wich i see in the top 100 page which one the right the rank or what we see in pages

I think the rank is the right one because the top 100 is made according to the ratings...and the ratings cand be seen by the others only after the contest is over. But I'm not sure about that :)

Dear Achraf, Can you please rephrase your question? I am not understanding it yet. Thanks, Diana

Hello, I have one question. Will you be verifying all projects after completing the projects and before the voting starts? Are projects will be removed if they didn't inconsistent with guidelines? Because people may not want to browse for example 60 pages of projects.

Dear Szymon,

Thank you for your questions. The only ideas which will be removed are the ones who, as announced in the brief and 2 days ago (and which be reminded about today again), are using the UEFA logo or name which do not follow this rule. But that won't reduce the 60 pages by much, so we hope that in the 6 days of Voting Only, you will manage to check and rate as many designs as possible. I am sure that that would make the idea owners very happy.

Cheers, Diana

Hello everyone. I don't want to sound desperate, but would anyone want to take a look at my logo? I just don't want it to get lost in the other logos.

Also, do only the popular logos get seen during voting?

Thanks.

Hi, Mojen. I've taken a look... Imo, it looks... joyful... but a Little bit naive and a lot Mexican. But don't worry, it's a good thing. From what I've seen, the voters definitely tend to favour your type of work.

... your Mexican looking logo is better than my Soviet-army-badge looking logo.

Hi Stefan, how do you think I should fix this look? Yeah, I have to agree, it looks a bit out of place. I'm going to try to fix it a little. And what do you mean by "naive"?

Thanks for your feedback.

Stefan, Alright, I've created a V.2 and I think it removes some of the "Mexican" look. Please, take a look and do tell me what you think.

Beautiful in Competition Everyone is creative and their ideas look good and beautiful No matter the important win is to participate Your friend Salah from Iraq

Greetings back, صلاح هلال!

Hi everyone,

There is just a bit over 1 day left. I want to send you again the reminder from 2 days ago: Please remember that the ideas using the UEFA logo or name which do not follow this rule will be excluded (removed) from the project before or just after the starting of the Voting Only period. So please, if you've used the UEFA logo or name in your design, update it now (attach it as a new image and send me a Message to remove the old one).

One more important thing: Don't use a cup (trophy) in your design, otherwise your design will not be able to win (be in the selected 25)!

Here you can reread the client feedback. ;) All the best from Berlin, Diana

I don't mean to sound rude, but there is like 15% of top100 projects that include one of following stated by you (UEFA symbols, Eagle, stars, trophies, 'Germany for the win'). What about them?

Thanks for checking in on that, sznitzy. The ideas containing UEFA in the correct way are perfectly fine. Those ones which do not use the text or logo UEFA correctly will be removed when the voting starts. It will take a little while until I go through all of them, so I already thank you for your patience. Regarding the other elements mentioned, they can stay and you can vote them accordingly as you think best. It was the choice of the creative to use those elements, even if using the cup will not make their design a winning one. But more guidance on rating will be posted when we get close to the end of the Submission phase. Anything else I can help you with?

they said avoid do eagle in the desgin not dont do them

It is an advice to avoid the eagle because it is hard to present it in a way that it communicates the right values (as explained in the Halftime Feedback).

The voting system is only for the jovoto's members? I assume that it is quite unfair because most of the designers may vote lower than they should in order to promote their logos. Am i right?

Yes. You need to be a jovoto member and I think you need also to have at least 300 karma if you want your vote to count.

Yup. You can read more about how voting and monitoting of votes works on jovoto here. Good luck! Diana

I would like to participate in the contest if anyone can help me to participate in the competition

its great too see all those desginer from all word work hard and ir eally liek desgines here i belive in my but also i respect others aare amazing too have great luck everyone

diana can you reply my message

Dear Achraf, I will reply early tomorrow. It is weekend and I am not supposed to be working actually. I hope it can wait until then. Cheers, Diana

  1. DO NOT use any reference to UEFA: no UEFA logo, name, cup or other symbols in your design! is it acceptable to use normal euro cup not UFA cup ?

Better to avoid any cup, Muhammad.

Ok... I'd like to do a little bit of ranting. A lot of it, actually. Please bare with me. :)

I've looked over that "Top 100" earlier today.

... it's mind bending. Who's doing the voting? I understand that only Jovoto users with a karma of at least 300 can vote, but, really!, who are those users? I am not saying that MY designs are worth much attention, but I am saying that most of the Top 100 designs (not all) are not communicating anything: they wander around the same o' meaningless concepts. Besides that, many logos depict vultures, other German symbols, football players, UEFA logo and / or text -- which is unallowed.

If I may...

The voting system seems unreliable. Of course, the client reserves the right to pick 5 designs besides the 20 users' best rated ones, and I find that fair and logical. The final 5 designs that are going to be presented for evaluation to the German public are going to be the best ones, undoubtedly. But that's not what I'm talking about. What I am talking about is the rating system on Jovoto: it seems to be corrupt.

... and it matters.

As Kostas Fotopoulos said earlier, many seem to vote low all the others' designs so that they promote their own logos. I suspect that there is a group or two of members who are "friends" outside the Jovoto platform, as wel, and vote each other here accordingly.

People are quite creative, not only when it comes to design, but when it comes to promote themselves. Getting a 300 karma is not that difficult: I got mine in a few days doing very little. I would imagine that a few people here have multiple accounts: using a proxy is easy stuff.

Last, but not the least important, I've noticed people copying ideas. I've seen around here a few logos "inspired" from designs previously submitted by others.

A final thought:

The Brief and the Halftime Feedback are quite unclear about the use of "UEFA" word. That's unprofessional, and it's a lack of respect for our work (whether is any good or not). Instead of explanations, maybe it would've been a better idea to present a few allowed / unallowed visual examples.

I have used "Germany, candidate for UEFA EURO 2020" for the first time in my "That Moment" submission. It was a tiny text way below the actual logo, and a Jovoto staff member left me a message saying I should remove it, according to the Halftime Feedback. Now, that's confusing!

... I have then used "Germany, candidate for EURO EURO 2024" instead. Maybe you should all play safe and do that: no "UEFA" word, but you still suggest where the text should appear.

Please see my reply below.

I totally agree with you. There are probably a lot of great designs out there that are lost in the 1600 some other designs.

Hello Diana,

These are my version and are rated very good...but I use the trophy and I'm so confused if my versions will exit or I can continuou with these... These are my versions

https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63456 https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63539 https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63519

Dear Ardian, I will check it for you. And next time, please send me a personal message. It will go faster and we don't spam our fellow creatives with an email (every time a comment is posted under the brief, everyone who has signed up for it, receives an email). ;) Cheers, Diaan

Thank you for your thoughts, Matei. Regarding ratings and its fairness, we are aware of all that (we've run hundreds of projects already) and this is why there is a Monitoring period after the voting ends where all votes are checked for fairness. Unfair votes will be put off if found as such. Please read all about about rating on jovoto here. Cheers, Diana

Thanks for replying, Diana. :) Since we are here, could you please let me know how I can clean up the mess within 3 of my entries? Because that confusion on what's allowed or not with the "UEFA" as a word made me add uneccessary images, and I cannot delete anymore those that have to be deleted.

Thanks!

Sure, let me take a look and I will write to you ASAP and clarify it crystal clear. ;)

There are a specific number of logo by people? I can upload two or three logos?

You can even upload 10. That is the max.

Hi everybody! Please check out my project. I don't want it to be overlooked. It is much different from all of the popular logos out there. Thanks everyone who looked! Link is here https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/64100

Hello (again),

I've just realized something, and it worries me. It concerns everyone.

I get the feeling that many people's work was in vain. The initial briefing clearly stated that we are allowed to use text such as "Germany", "EURO" & "2024". It said nothing about size, what should or should not stand out.

The Halftime Feedback, on the other hand, says that what should stand out is that Germany is a CANDIDATE for hosting the championship.

Let's see some examples. My 1st design: https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62345 1st submitted design: https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62124

... and many others. Most of them.

What these logos say is "Euro 2024, Germany". I get the feeling that these logos don't meet the client's requirements -- in which case they are disqualified right from the beginning, and we can talk about miscommunication and wasted efforts on our side.

Maybe Diana will have a say on this.

Dear Matei,

Thank you for sharing your concern. However, there may be some confusion. You can use either EURO, GERMANY and 2024 as text (no UEFA text or logo), or use UEFA as explained in the Halftime Feedback. Both the brief and the Halftime Feedback are correct. You are free to choose whichever of the two situations you want. Basically we added the second option in the Halftime Feedback because we've seen many of you using UEFA although was not allowed (it is essentially not legally allowed), so we wanted to offer you an (and the only) option where you can use it.

I hope it is clearer now. 7 hours to go for updates and submission! ;)

Hi Diana, I was wondering if you'll be combining ideas that have been posted more than once, each time as a new idea with just a slight change that is almost unnoticeable, like a font color change, or a small design element moved around, and sometimes with no change at all, they just wanted to move up in the order. All the multiple postings, of the same designs makes it really confusing for voting, and the votes that they do get will be diluted, so the outcome won't be a true vote representing one particular idea or design. And on the other hand there are some that have more than one complete design, like two or three or more on one entry. Should we only vote on the design that's the first cover image? And that also goes for the client, will they only be judging the main cover image? I think if they were combined it would sure cut down on the number of pages to go through, and therefore spread out the number of votes to more entries. Because very few of us are going to have the time or patience to go through 70+ pages (or whatever it ends up to be, and especially in the short time frame of the rating period). And that wouldn't be fair to the early ideas.

Thanks.

Hey tcurtisart, yes, we will merge them today and tomorrow and even after that. If I miss a few, you are welcome to message them to me. Thank you! And yes, then there will be less ideas to go through for you all. Cheers, Diana

Thank You Diana For This Project.

And thank you ALL!

Dear abdulrahman, I will check it for you. And next time, please send me a personal message. It will go faster and we don't spam our fellow creatives with email (every time a comment is posted under the brief, everyone who has signed up for it, receives an email). ;) Cheers, Diana

Hi Diana!, i´m thinking on making an Update today befor the closing. Please, tell me if should i upload a new Project or should i just upload new pictures in the old project? Bouth are similar, thats why i ask.

Btw: Is the sentence CANDIDATE FOR mandatory?

Thank you very much

Dear Ezequiel, if you make an update, it should be attached to the same idea (no new idea, please). And the best is to place the new images at the beginning of your idea. Regarding your second question, you can use either EURO, GERMANY and 2024 as text (no UEFA text or logo) as explained in the brief, or use the UEFA text with the additional text as explained in the Halftime Feedback. You are free to choose whichever of the two situations you want. Good luck!

Hello! Couple questions: how will the rating-only period look? I mean, technically, the site. Will the rankings and scores be visible to everyone? Will projects be sorted descending or what? Sill top100 and the others?

Hi ;)

I will post some guidance on how to vote (it is actually a repost from an earlier post). But the rating is anonymous during the 6 voting days. And there will be a lot of ups and downs for everyone during this period. Then will come a day of monitoring (when we check the fairness of the votes and annul the unfair ones) on Sept 11th, after which the selected 25 will be announced.

More on voting on jovoto here.

Cheers, Diana

Hi, does the submission period end at 19:00 Central European Time? Or what does 17:00 UTC+0200 mean?

Hello, I was just wondering if designs which obviously do not meet the requirements (i.e. say 'UEFA' on them or feature the cup) will be removed before the voting period?

Hey James, To pick up on my answer to another creative, the ideas containing UEFA in the correct way are perfectly fine. Those ones which do not use the text or logo UEFA correctly will be removed when the voting starts. It will take a little while until I go through all of them, so I already thank you for your patience. Regarding the designs that contain the cup, they can stay and you can vote them accordingly as you think best. It was the choice of the creative to use those elements, even if using the cup will not make their design a winning one. But more guidance on rating will be posted when we get closer to the end of the Submission phase. ;)

Dear Diana, Please can you reply to my message? Thank you.

I did not receive any message from you from what I can see, Youssef. Can you send it again? Thank you. :)

Dear wonderful creatives,

We are getting very close to the end of the Submission phase. *You've got less than 2 hours left to submit new ideas and update your old ones. *

After this phase ends, the Voting Only phase starts (until Sept. 10th, 23:59 PM - Berlin time). How does voting works on jovoto and how should you vote in this project?

  • Rating is anonymous. It is not allowed to trade ratings on jovoto. Even if you love an idea and you gave it a 9 or a 10, please don't mention that to the idea owner. Don't spam other creatives with messages to vote your idea.
  • Rate the ideas, rather than the people who submit them.
  • If you have friends on the platform and you find it hard to be objective, it’s better not to rate their ideas.
  • Be sure to read and consider the creative brief & Halftime Feedback. It is your decision how much not following them (i.e. by using a trophy in the design) affects your rating.
  • Rate using the full scale from 1-10. By giving a diverse range of ratings you broaden the range of ratings and use the full spectrum and power of the rating system.
  • The more you rate, the fairer the result – more people more opinions. Broader spectrum.
  • Remember to change your rate if the idea owner has updated his or her idea.

Please note: Any unfair ratings will be disqualified during the Monitoring phase which follows the Voting Only phase. These unfair ratings won't be considered in the final ranking.

To read more on rating, click here or go to our Support Center.

Have an awesome day! Diana

Dear Diana, just a thought: Voting nearly 2,000 ideas is really an arduous task, Could be a good thing, before to start the voting phase, disqualify and remove ideas that do not meet the requirements? like those who have the "trophy" in the logo? Only a few hundred ideas remains, and the vote would be easier and more correct... Big hug Tommaso

Dear Tommaso, I know that voting 2000 ideas is a big commitment. We will however not remove the ideas using the trophy as that was never communicated as such. We will remove the ideas which do not use the text or logo UEFA correctly. That will be around 1-200. Cheers, Diana

i make photo and some logos up how i can up him ?!

It would be cool if the project would close with 2024 ideas ;)

I'm uploading my work but it take a long time Encoding in progress

did you make it to the voting?

I tried to upload my idea at 16:50, but jovoto had a technical problem and now my idea is not in! Can I still submit ? It was not my fault...

Sorry about that. If you still need help please send me a Message.

I also have this problem, so what the solution???

Well it looks like here guidance dropped the ball and briefing completely failed. But is barely the mistake of the DFB. For someone familiar with the subjects surroundings their briefing was very OK. Most of the community just not understood or may be not even read it properly. However now we have this situation and I think Tommaso made a good point. The UEFA items logos ,star balls, cup and font stuff etc., Also swoosh sprites and other already popular remakes like handshake heart etc. as well as Bundesadler, but not all birds in general. All the items not meeting the requirements should be selected out, as announced in the briefing !

Yes. Could not upload 3 pics …

I don't know why like this I tried from 5pm

If you still need help please send me a Message.

Hello Diana, Where do we stand on the use of EU stars in logos? I think I vaguely remember you praising someone on their use of theirs (I'm not 100% sure on this though), but I don't really see how this would be appropriate as UEFA and the EU are two very separate things. UEFA has 55 member associations, including the likes of Russia. Whereas I understand that people have added them to create a sense of community and openness, EU symbolism actually has the opposite effect in the context of a UEFA competition (as there are 27 members of UEFA that aren't actually part of the EU). Could you clarify what the position of the client is on this? Should I let the use of EU stars affect my ratings? Many Thanks, James

Dear James, stars is no problem as long as they are used creatively and in a relevant manner. I wish you good luck!

I appreciate that stars aren't a problem, but what if they are specifically making reference to the EU flag?

If you would do a google search, you would see that there are 24 qualifying slots for the championship in 2024.

Marian, I totally get the use of stars, I have no issues with the use of stars per se. But some designs are deliberately trying to replicate the EU flag (which doesn't have 24 stars).

Well, whatever designs are deliberately trying to replicate the EU flag - I'm sure they wont be considered as valid designs... We, as designers, should expect the best from Jovoto, and let them exclude everything that is not valid and what doesn't respect the brief, and also the copycats (which btw, are lots). :D I would be able to report all the copycats if I would have enough time, because that would be also in my interest. But unfortunately I'm very busy and cannot do this...

Hello! how will the rating-only period look? I mean, technically, the site. Will the rankings and scores be visible to everyone? Will projects be sorted descending or what? rating-only period is starting and i don't have any idea .. i don't undersatnd how does that working ?

Dear Nizar, ratings are anonymous during the Rating Only period. They will be visible once the winners are announced. Cheers, Diana

you just copied my comment from above. Doesn't look good on graphic designers' contest site. Besides that 6/7 of your followers are non-designers (fake accounts, friends, bots etc.) who just rated and commented your work and disappeared. Diana how is that fair? And how come these accounts can give ratings when their karma is around 100?

On jovoto you need 300 karma points for the ratings to count. It is all explained here: https://www.jovoto.com/blog/creatives/community/the-jovoto-rating-system-explained/

Thank You For Submission, Project Ends Next Sunday.

Does the sorting top 100 shows from highest to lowest rated images or shows first 100 random? Because one image is first, then 50th after 5 min :). Or it was intentionally done to prevent an unfair voting? Cheers, Igor

I'm sure they are random :D

Hi there,

Since I have heard this question from many sides: The top 100 is random!

Have a great enjoyable evening! It's been a joy to watch your designs coming in. ;) Diana

So most people will have their design showcased? Or no?

Unfortunately not. The top 100 shows the top 100 ideas (as voted at that moment for you), but not in the correct order 1-100, in a random order.

Does That Mean The Winner Will Be Announced on September 10th, Diana?

Dear Blake, the final (big) winner ;) will not be announced on Sept. 10th. The public voting will start in mid September meaning that the winner will be chosen later on. Check the Timing & awards section from the brief to see again the exact steps until there.

hi Diana,Can I modify the logo ? I want to change the background color only.Is it possible?

adam designer

Unfortunately that's not possible anymore after the end of the Submission phase, Adam. Good luck!

I designed the logo, but suddenly the contest got closed?

New to the platform, can I submit somehow?

Thanks!

Unfortunately that's not possible anymore after the end of the Submission phase, Taulant.

Hi Diana , I want just ask if the client will see all ideas in this contest and choose his 5 best logo design ?

Dear yassine, the client will see all ideas. Yes. For the exact steps and selection, please check the Timing & awards section from the brief. ;)

Have a great day! Diana

Hi Jovoto-Team! I've read the way the rating system works and I really doubt that this is the fairest way to find the best 25 submissions. Participants shouldn't be allowed to vote. Period! Only a team of independent experts should. I hope, I'm mistaken, but it's human nature to try to gain an advantage when faced with the possibility of voting against the competition. Especially, when the price is high. I hope, I'm wrong and you have a very clever system in the background monitoring the whole operation.
Best Regars Alin V.

Dear Alin and Kiayes,

There are many advantages and disadvantages to community vs. client (jury) only voting. This is why there is a balance of both in this project and in our projects in general. However, it would be awesome if you want to start a forum topic about this. I would be more than happy to share it with the rest here.

Cheers, Diana

I also believe that the voting system is somehow a dead end. What's the poing of voting another designer's logo when he/she is competing you. Ok, i know about the spirit etc. but it is somehow akward. Netherless, i got bored of receiving messages of designers who begging me to vote them. Neither an open public vote is a solution because the winner will be the most social one. I think the best way is to let the judges vote all the 25 projects.

Thats my opinion of course, jovoto maybe knows better. Kind regards, Kostas

@Kostas, even if you are in competition I think a good designer knows how to recognize the good work of a colleague-competitor ... and so he votes.

However here will not be a big problem ... the proposals are over two thousand but few are really valid. (Among these, in my opinion, one of yours ;-)

Yes i feel like its that way . the best thing is to let the jury judge it self so it can be fear for every one.

Good discussion, I was just mentioning in another reply the following: There are many advantages and disadvantages to community vs. client (jury) only voting. This is why there is a balance of both in this project and in our projects in general. However, it would be awesome if you want to start a forum topic about this. I would be more than happy to share it with the rest here. It is a long discussion which could never be followed up on in a few comments under a brief.

There are lot of intries wish containe "Cup", "uefa word" , " stars", "eagle" there use is prohibited i think that they should be banned before the ending of the rating periode

Dear Nizar, as mentioned in another reply to a fellow creative, we will not remove the ideas using the trophy as that was never communicated as such. We are in the process of finishing removing the ideas which do not use the text or logo UEFA correctly. That is be around 1-200. Have an awesome day! Diana

It is not a problem in the system, but actually in the people who want to cheat and bash others!

Spend some more time around here in jovoto and you will know this for yourself. We have a very healthy, working environment here, at least in PRO circle. If people focus on their designs and stay fair to others, then everything will be OK.

Community voting is what separate our jovoto from all the rest, and most of us creatives prefer to keep it that way, to have the freedom to express our opinion.

When you vote, think of the opposite design like it was yours. Would you rate it 1 or 2 then? Probably no. Hope this little tutorial helps for more fair voting, in this project and beyond.

Probably with 2000+ ideas it will be hard to choose top 20, maybe top 50 would've been easier, but in the end I'm sure only top ideas will be selected by the community. After that, experts will have their word, too.

Good luck to all!

Couldn't agree more!!!

Well said Mariya! Those who only give high ratings to their friends or bash others, and don't show the integrity to judge objectively and fairly will log in one day and discover they've earned the "yellow banner of shame" and none of their votes will count. It's always amazing to me and so obvious how many people never read the brief or HT feedback or follow any of the comments, and have to be reminded over and over again by the guide or other creatives to review the brief carefully and pay attention, including the timing of the contest- it's all there people. The first cut and maybe the second cut will probably go pretty quickly in this contest, after that we'll see what happens. Good Luck!

hi Mariya. after first day i really doubt this. i have never seen anything like this. people started to vote during my ideas were still encoding. average rate 4 or even less??? I wish client can be proud of their 20 finalists. i also received pms where some of jovoto members ask top votes for their ideas. this is my jovoto platform experience. :( this is a reason why i wrote before that i do not want to be part of this system

Hello, I looked quickly at the various projects and I saw that the last ones, such as those inserted yesterday, are penalized by the votes of the community because they arrived at the last moment and because there are so many projects that it is impossible to see all of them and vote... The risk is that interesting projects arrived at the last moment can not be taken into account ....

Is it possible for the jury to judge them all?

Thank you Bye

Dear Sebiana,

Incredible work came indeed until the last seconds of submission. I am really impressed! The Jury will see them all from the first one to the last one, each and every page you all have uploaded. They are already looking at them.

Cheers, Diana

Dear irradianailon2,

The creatives who have been reported to us to have been spamming with "let's exchange votes" messages have been sent a warning, received the yellow banner that their votes don't count, and the votes they have received on their ideas will be checked thoroughly for unfairness during the Monitoring phase. We are aware of these behaviours in public (Open) projects and we are always ready to act quickly on them.

Have an awesome day! Diana

Hi Mariya, Hard to believe, you actually promote to neutralize voting in favor of more average of average made in a confortable working environment. And you think that this is fair !? There are only 5 steps ! To narrow this make it even more unfair ! The way I see it, that is not conform with the general Jovoto guidelines too. The big advantage of crowd working is that there are so many different people. The full potential can only come out if we respect each other and whatever the other think. Give a Zero to mirror glossy effects. Say no to the boring average slime. Should be as respected as everything else. Then logically all results above 8 should be brilliant. But the “protect my comfort way”, the results are somehow artificial pushed up blocking the space for innovation and something better. “Ich suche mir immer Leute, die mir sagen: Was du machst, ist total bescheuert. Denk noch mal nach. So kommen gute Ideen zustande “.Bertrand Piccard (*1958) cheers Ulli

I downloaded my logo on my page but I can not enter the contest Please explain to me how to publish the work

wana kman :( الوقت خلص

Dear Hend, it is too late. The Submission period has ended 17 hours ago. Sorry about that. Next time just keep a good eye on the deadline.

i need send my Design really it so bad

بس فى ناس نزلت تصميماتها النهاردة بس انا مش عرفة انزل تصميمى

I dont think that someone can see all the proporsals. I try, but yesterdey i spend 2 hours and i just saw a few amount of them. The most of them use prohibited simbols or writings, some of them are copied or they dont contain the Links. And i´m sure the most of the people dont want even vote the top 100. ¿How will they find then the good Ideas lost in the crowd?

Thank you, Ezequiel, for spending 2 hours to vote. We all appreciate that. Even if you cannot rate all designs, everyone's (little) contribution in terms of rating will help. ;)

Halftime Feedback didn't reach all the designers, please if it's possible extend the contest one more day to update the designs, thanks in advance

That's unfortunate. We have sadly very strict deadlines for this project, and we cannot extend the deadline.

I would like to know if those logos which dont have anything written in the description will be cut too?

What do you mean by "cut", Aiva?

I meant... There are some good designs without any description at all. Are they considered valid for the contest or will they be eliminated as those who contain uefa, euro cup etc.?

And another thought... I really doubt that someone would have time and patience to rate all 2000 ideas, the first submitted ideas and the last will have all the attention. My logo is somewhere in the middle, i think it will be completely lost in the crowd. I would like the random option also in all the logos, not just top100. It would give possibility to all the logos to be seen equally.

last maybe have more attention but they also get all bash votes

i think five days not enough to evaluate 2000 ideas ; so i am with you and agree with your comment

Giving the option to see all ideas randomly (not just the most recent and the top 100) is a feature that we are working on, Aiva. So, spot on. Unfortunately it will not be ready for this project. So, we and all fellow idea owners I am sure are very thankful for any rating that any of you is giving.

Have an awesome day, Diana

Great, I think it would be helpful for "open to all" projects with many entries! I'll try to rate as many as I can (and I'll start with some designs in the middle ;) ) Thank you!

Last but not least: I wish a lot of patience, Diana. Will be needed. :))

I think u most give the designers more one day i worked hardly but the time is finish please make a chance to those how like me , i design a very good idea and am sure it will be one of the top 5

Wow! Are you sure it would be one of the top five?

Magic ...prediction! :-D :-D :-D

Yeah sure ,, i see the most ideas here and am faithful in my work

I thinks in future the ideas must be limit 3 ideas per designer or Maximum 4 ,, This is suggestion

I don' t think that's the problem here so much wheres the number of logos from almost no difference between them to none that some people have posted as different ideas. Yesterday I think I saw three separeted ideas that were obviously just updates to one.

a lot of nice ideas - it will be hard to select best

try this, Just blindfold your eyes and let your soul lead you to the beauty B) definitely will be my design HAHA

the good ones are pretty clear to be noticed, Good luck everyone :)

diana you wrote: "The creatives who have been reported to us to have been spamming with "let's exchange votes" messages have been sent a warning, received the yellow banner that their votes don't count, and the votes they have received on their ideas will be checked thoroughly for unfairness during the Monitoring phase. And what about those who are promoting their designs here in the discussion, a discussion that is created for discussing important matters for everyone, not advertising and yawning for missed deadlines.

DianaJianu

I cannot be sure of all have been reported to us. I did take action on what was reported to us.

I think there are 10 best ideas that can win, the others are only a starting project sketch with no story, only visual. Maybe a jury initial selection was good for all.

Dear contest holder, Jovoto and designers, I would like to say thanks for the opportunity to show my skills to shape ideal logo for one event this big! Even a reference would be great, not to mention the prize, amazing! However, I believe Jovoto could improve its system, because it is not relevant to let designers vote between each other because: - Human nature won't let you vote for your competition. - This is not public voting, this is voting within Jovoto community! Also, in the guidelines it is clearly stated that logos which have cup, or prohibited wording/logos in it, won't make it to the "public" voting but they actually did. Anyway, I believe the client (contest holder) is really serious about this (like every German is when it comes to business) and that they organized experts who will go through every bid and choose the best. I would like to thanks in advance to those people on their patience, because there is like 2k entries. I wish luck to all of you, and let the best one win!

Dear Ismail,

Thank you for your good words and energy!

Just one thing – you have misunderstood the Community voting with "public voting". The Community voting is the voting here that happens on jovoto and the top 20 from the Community voting will be selected for the Jury voting together with 5 more designs selected by the client. From those 25, the Jury will select 5 which will go into the public voting where the world fans vote for their favorite. That public voting will not be on jovoto.

The ideas with a cup will not make it into the selected 25. The ideas who use the UEFA name incorrectly have been mostly removed. All the rest stand a chance for any prize.

I hope this clarifies things further.

Good luck, Diana

Dear Diana,

it makes sense now. Sorry for not catching that!

However, I still think that it is not fair how the system works. Here is a good examle/reason - what if someone collects enough votes to make it to top 20, and their creative may not be even considered by the contest holder. Would it be a waste if this happens and a good creative doesn't get a chance to be spotted by the contest holder?

Cheers, Ismail

"what if someone collects enough votes to make it to top 20" - I am not sure what you mean. It is not about how many votes you get, but what votes you get. Sure, the final number is averaged by the number of votes, but in order to make it to top 20, you need great votes.

The client selects their 5 which go into the Jury selection next to the Community 20, from all the almost 2000 submissions. So no one will miss on being seen and considered by the client. All's covered. ;)

Dear Diana,

That was the answer I was hoping for :)

Thanks a lot for your patience to answer on all of my questions! I really appreciate your efforts! Sorry I took your time to go through all of it, but you showed your dedication with it. If there is a way to rate your engagement - please let me know, I really would like to make your day better, like you made mine with this very fast responds!

Cheers, Ismail

:) I wish I had the time to enjoy more looking at the submitted designs, but I am happy to help you all out as well. Thanks! And good luck!

Dear creatives, let's keep this space for important questions and clarifications that you might need, and for essential messages from me. All self-promotion and personal messages will be removed, so please do not post them. Just send me a Message, I will promise that I will get back to you ASAP today.

Keep voting! How exciting!

I created a logo and I deposited it on my copte jovoto but I see it not with the logo of the condidat that it is participated on the compitition

Please send me a Message, I will promise that I will get back to you ASAP today.

Please there are 5 similar works i want to delete 4 of them

I will vote for what I like only. Should I vote for everyone?

Please use the entire scale 1-10, because that gives credibility to your votes. So, the more and more varied you vote, the better, Abdelaty. ;)

Diana Jianu, I know you are busy, but maybe you'll find the time to read my (new) comment: :)

Ismail Halvadzija: "Human nature won't let you vote for your competition."

Alex Alessi: "There are 10 best ideas, the others have NO story, only visual".

Good points, even though a few voters surely are fully objective (I am one of them). A few.

As far as Jovoto is concerned...

A massive clean-up should have been done right after the submission period ended. A little bit of breaking the rules is good for creativity, and Jovoto shouldn't remove design that don't fully comply with the client's requirements, but those that completely disregard them (nearly half of the submissions). That would make the voting easier and more relevant.

"In the guidelines it is clearly stated that logos which have cup, or prohibited wording / logos in it, won't make it to the public voting but they actually did" -- says Ismail Halvadzija, and he is right again.

Furthermore... The briefing says that all submissions MUST include a Black/White version. I have found a design that looks very nice (62250), but it has no B/W version. The problem is that I don't see how a B/W version would make any sense -- let alone look decent. Maybe that's why there was none added.

... if you ask for a B/W version, then you limit MY options when it comes to using overlapping colors. My options, and every one else's who read the briefing and sticks to it.

... other than that, it's just a contest. One where at least 25 designs are so much better than mine, so I have nothing to win / lose. I hope that NONE of the selected 25 will contain an UEFA logo, a cup... vulture... or other obvious German national symbols ("emotionally laden elements", as the Halftime Feedback said) -- because that would be so unfair!

May the best design win.

... which I'm sure will happen. There's a jury of experts, a client, and the German public. I am looking forward to seeing who the winner is. It's fun.

@Stefan Matei, any logo must ALWAYS have its version in B / N, and that makes perfect sense, because there are many occasions where you can not use the color logo (It's ABC of graphic design ...).

Black white version is a MUST in any logo, without that you cannot do a stamb or use it for publications that need thermal processing. Its an ABC graphic design process as @Mario Barbieri said.

It seems to me that cleaning process has already begun. The number of submissions in the project review is falling steadily (over 100 designs have been removed already I think), which means that the jovoto team is actively reviewing entries and deleting them accordingly. Still a lot to be done though as there are hundreds of cups, eagles, uefa logos, wrong typography, etc. floating around. There should have been a review/clean up right before the voting started as it causes a massive confusion to click through almost 2000 entries. Other than that, I understand they are on a tight schedule..

Thank you for your support, Vincent. We couldn't have started before the start of the voting, as then it was still Submission phase, and creatives could still update their ideas. But I get your point.

Totally agree with you! And let's make something clear - b/w is not greyscale, and I specifically created logos that look in b/w as good as colored

B / N in typography is normally grayscale. Or rather in "blackscale" on white support. So we'll have black at 100%, 90%, 80% and so on as far as white.

You're right, my bad. What i meant was, as far as my understanding of brief went, i created b/w version with only one 100% color, just so they can use it in situations where greyscale wont apply e.g. on stamp. Doesn't matter now. Let the best one win!

It was a huge challenge for me, to create a visual logo with so many meanings and references! Illustrate the huge message that European Championship is! It was a nice initiative, and an amazing opportunity to create a nice project. So many interesting Iogos :) wish the best of luck to everyone!

Dear jovoto moderators, I've read some of new comments today, and i find some designers complain about the Voting / Rating period, which make me agree with them, i spent 5 days (reading about Germany, searching, sketching... and lot of design processes) to bring the idea that will convey the brief requirement and Germany values as host country, but there's a lot of ideas doesn't fit neither to the brief requirements nor to the half time feedback. So as some designer suggest (here in comments section), it should have a cleaning period before the rating process as you mentioned in the legal overview " This is a project with further provisions". According to my experience most of designers (not all) are convinced by their ideas and styles, and due to that some ideas will not be Rated/Voted. So as the voting period is begin i think there's no chance to change. So i hope that the only best ideas wins. With all my respect and appreciation to the platform moderatos & Designers.

Dear m'hamed, thank you for your dedication to this project.

Dear voters/rankers please have some patience and go deeply to the oldest ideas that are sinking in nowhere over there :D

You're so right, dear Abdelrahman. Since my idea fell out of the top 100, I hadn't got any new rating. Only top 100 or the earliest and latest ideas are rated, in the middle of 2000 ideas you stay invisible. Random would be an option, I think.

That's a feature that we will embed soon. Not in this project though. Thank you!

I am sorry, but there will not be changes to the process.

Hello Diana, i don't know how to vote, can you tell me please how should it be done, i mean i can´t find a link or button to do it, can you please explain me how? Thank you in advance!

Estuardo Vargas.

Go to each / any idea and click on the stars at the top of the idea, like here. That's how you vote one idea. ;)

It is an amazing feeling to compete with such amazing designers from all around the world. It is a really great honor. Congratulations to the Jovoto staff and all the creatives involved. Wishing you all the best!

Hello Jovoto-Team and Community,

thanks for this great contest and opportunity for everyone who is creative. No matter who will win, we are all one big family. I had almost no time to design the logo, just 1-2 hours, but i spend 80% on research and concept. For that reason i only submit one color version. But just in case ... I will refine my design to deliver the highest quality. I wish everyone good luck.

Best greetings from Germany Kevin (Communication Design Student)

I usually never complain about community voting, it's part of the game, I know. But in this case I'm speechless .... I think somebody has found the way of fooling the system, I see my ideas that have been in the top 20 for the duration of the contest, until this morning ... and now get shot in positions 30 .... 40 ... and beyond, they go down to incredible speed. in few hours. In my opinion this is because many enroll their friends and make them reach the minimum karma to vote ... and here is not the beautiful or the ugly, who has expressed the requirements of the briefing or not. there is only a lot of pilot votes. I am disappointed. We can not throw away so much time and energy to finish it like that. the competition loses professionalism .... so sad .....

Thank you for the note, Tommaso. Will take a thorough look during Monitoring at this. Cheers, Diana

thank you. it is good that old member comments something too because your word has definitely more power than mine.

I don't like voting system too. I only hope the client be professional by seeing all the ideas (not only the top 100).

andhy as diana just wrote unfortunately voting system will choose most of the finalists not client

I agreed with you yesterday i was 66 and now i'm 361 !!!

Dear irradianailon2, That is not actually correct. The client (Jury actually) is actually the one who has full control over the five finalists who go into the public voting. If they find it appropriate, they could pick the same 5 designs that win the Client's Shortlist (chosen by the client). ;)

I absolutely agree with you, even many comments are from people with new accounts and no profile pics, you can read the same copy paste opinion in many recent ideas. Many cheaters around here, so sad

Totally agree, I saw several projects, good projects falling down from one day to other but it seams only the projects on the top100 are moving. Imagine the projects that are on position 500. Did sombody saw them? Voted? Don't think so. Mine was visited less than 50 times and only the 10 people from maybe 1500 voted me. I don't mind 1 or 10 but that reflect the reality

Hi everyone,

I have been following your latest comments and the conversation. It is normal that in a project with voting (fellow creative voting) you get to get worried about fair behaviour. And I have taken note of all your observations so far! It is also normal to win and lose spots, so don't get worried.

Please stay assured that the Monitoring process is something that we have been perfecting for more than 8 years and more than 500 projects, and by now we've seen a lot and can easily spot such unfair (group support, fake accounts, bashing etc.) behaviour. It is an algorithmic structure easy for us to see in the backend. You just have to have patience and ride the ride until the Monitoring phase, when all these unfair ratings attempts will be annulled.

If you have more comments to share on voting/monitoring please from now on only post it as a REPLY to this comment (or send me a message about it). Three reasons for that: 1) I can keep track of it all and easily find it back when I do the Monitoring, 2) we don't spam all the other creatives' emails and newsfeed, and 3) we keep this space clean and neatly organized.

If you miss the reply button, I will have to move your comment myself. Make my life easy, don't miss it, and I promise I will send you joyful digital good vibes each time. :)

Ps: And don't risk your beautiful profile with an ugly yellow banner.

The jury should choose top 25 because they are professionals. Anyone can vote here and if he is not competent. No offense. I do not have time to judge others I just applied to the competition and I have a lot of private business. Judges should decide everything. Good luck everyone !!!

I'm not ok with the procesus of this competition ! there is so many copie modified and not professionel having a top rating only by friends of the owners ! i think that should be a jury votes who decide the finalist and the winner too !

I spent four days thinking, developing and designing my idea. But there is 1893 ideas ! So I calculate it if every idea take 4 mins from the client reading it and taking a look at the design 1893 ideas * 4 mins = 7572 mins = 126.2 hours = 5.25833333333 Days But, I honestly don't trust the public voting , so ...... whatever Thank you.

Here's an abnormal situation: I've found a design uploaded on Aug. 24th which at that time I've rated 7. Amongst others, it depicted something that vaguely resembled the UCL cup. For some reason, the logo as a whole looked interesting, and I've voted 7. The owner changed the design in the meantime in order to comply with the briefing requirements: he replaced the cup with a foodball. I quite... don't like the new version. I've changed my rating to 4. So! There are designs that have been updated after getting a number of votes (good votes, in this case, since the design has been listed in the Top 100 from the beginning), that now look too different than the version they have been rated for. ... if you understand where I'm getting.

So Now there is some cheap cheaters making fake account and giving other designs low ratings ... this does not seem fair at all

I only have one question. Will the 5 jury picked logos be chosen from the top 100 or will they look through all the submissions?

Dear Mihai, as answered many times before, they will look through all the submissions. They have already started. ;)

Dear Cre8tive, as already mentioned, those fake accounts don't matter anyway, since all these fake / unfair votes will be annulled during the Monitoring phase. Nothing to worry. We know this kind of behaviour in public project and we are able to spot it and disable it very quickly during the Monitoring phase.

I do spent more than 10 days designing my ideas and i won't say i waste these days on nothing, it was nice to recalculate my information and mind to make new designs on something i like . and then, some nice people votes less than 3 stars on my ideas , which makes me feel like joining some projects again is useless if the project's creators follow the RATING only . I am not asking myself to keep winning here and somewhere else because i can see so beautiful designs here and better than mine too , but i kept designing ideas because nobody of us knows what the client is looking for. Anyway, we can be honest by voting and stop destroying the others's abilities just because they can make designs better than us . Thanks and best regards .

in a democracy everybody should be respected ! Therefore there is not such a thing like "unfair voting". but may be a corrupted system. Looks like that not so easy to understand for this community . James Thomas made a very revealing comment earlier that should help to understand the difficult situation , Unfortunately it was erased so her it comes again ; Quote " think we need to remember that most designs are between a 4 rating and a 6 rating (all of mine are). My lowest rating is 4.04 and my highest is 5.81. Whilst the difference between these two ratings isn't huge, this translates to a difference of 1192 positions (these designs are in 1397th position and 205th position respectively). Unless our designs have loads and loads of ratings, one simple bad rating can send our designs plummeting hundreds of places. Volatility and low ratings is to be expected (one of my designs literally jumped from 80 to 300+ in one go)...but it can also work in the reverse...one good rating and you're back where you used to be - we shouldn't be too disheartened by some volatility! All we can do to counteract this volatility is vote honestly on as many designs as possible (and not be afraid of giving high ratings) in the hope that others to the same. Only by voting on as many designs as possible will we make sure that designs get the ratings they deserve. I appreciate there are loads of designs to trawl through, but we should really try to dedicate as much time to this as possible as this is the best way of making the system less volatile, and ultimately fairer! "

I would like to publish under this lines this next message because even if we know there is no possible change i think would be nice that the participants on this project know that things can be better in the future. We know after reading lot of experiences that the mistake is just in the range of votes and the amount of people who votes. In this opinion i would like to help the JOVOTO COMUNITY with a proporsal that maybe would be nice to apply in the future. As the existence of "KARMA" who reflects the amount of participation one had, would be interesting the existence of the "VOTING AVERAGE". This would be public and would reflect the average between 1 and 10 of the votes a person voted to other projects. In this case, a person who has a public VOTING AVERAGE under 3 would be someone selfish who just rate bad the others in order to climb up. In other hand a person with a public VOTING AVERAGE about 8 would be someone who for some reassons only vote the good projects or sell points. In this point, in my opinion, the persons who have more Karma and a more balanced Voting average would be the most fair player and a proud for JOVOTO.

Hi Diana, just to get some clarity! Which designs will the client get to see? All the entries or only those who get the best rates in the rating phase. Thank you in advance!

Alin

I agree with you Diana and as a new user for JOVOTO I hope the voting will be fair for us.

This contest's design comments feel so uninspired and fake. There isn't a single comment really giving feedback to the work they're commenting. There are comments such as "amazing" under designs that don't pass the basic qualities of a properly designed logo. The quality in this contest can be cut with a knife, there are like 5%-10% professionally well designed logos and 90% very amateur designs. I guess this is what happens when designers are afraid to express their honest opinion because of a terrible rating or give dishonest comments just to raise their ratings and such. The system of the ratings is really badly thought, there are so so many holes in this system. I guess the top 5 are enough for the client, the top 20 are like extra prices to give out to make the people happy (giving it randomly would've been the same for them most likely). I wouldn't even be surprised if in the top 20 was a logo designed with Paint or even a blank image. I know some designers will resonate with my thoughts and think this as well. PS: I merely entered this contest in a modest way to have fun without any intention of entering the top 25. Just being a designer and football fan made me enter here. I want you to know that these thoughts don't come from my work being underappreciated or such, but rather seeing really good works left out and some "not so good" works being treated as "amazing". It's plain unfair to all.

Dear Alin-G. V., all designs will be seen by the client and considered.

Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts. ;) Fair voting and constructive feedback is what we are striving here for as well.

Ahmet Prosic @ It makes sense what you say. The jury should choose the... Because they are proffessionals. But take a look at Denmark 2020 Official Logo (not a bidding one, it's a damn official logo), and... And! No comment.

I also spent some time to give excellent expression from my prespective to fulfill the requirements. I hope voting process doesn't affect jury's monitoring process. All the best to us all

I am not adding a new post, I'm only replying here (Diana's request). :) Here's an opinion about the voting and the voters: (1) Many are obviously not pleased with the voting results. I'm sure there's frustration adding up (in some), because they feel they're evaluated unfair. I also believe that some of these people go around sharing low votes just to "even" things out. (2) I feel wronged too. And I've voted all the designs in the contest. It's insane, I know. I won't do that again. But this time I have, and I've voted precisely what I saw. I didn't care who the designer was. That's normality. But... It's been SUCH a time eater! Jovoto SHOULD have ran a clean-up, deleting the designs that don't qualify (according to their own briefing). If only the clean works were listed, it would have been easier for all to vote. :) At this time you can fill up 25 pages with works that shouldn't be there in the voting phase. Since they are, many will waste time voting them and have no time left to vote what ought to be voted. . Note that down, Jovoto. Please consider it for future projects.

This is a contest open to everyone, so there's no point in blaming non-professionals. What would help though, if everyone would take some time and try to vote for as many proposals as possible, so also the designs that didn't get any attention get a fair chance. There are lots of proposals that got less than 50 views, while the ones in the top 100 got over 1500. As soon as you leave the top100 it's hard to spot the good designs that are somewhere lost in the other 1700. So please, I know it takes much time, but try to go through all the pages, I bet some jewels are hidden there. Best of luck to everyone!

However, I also have to criticize that the client only chooses 5 designs, it would be better the other way round (client 20, jovoto community 5) My impression is that the preferences of the community are not coherent to the clients wishes.

Totally agree with you i think client can choose 20 and jovoto comunity Choose 5 its fair enough and achieve clients wishes. Many designs on top 100 is not good enough to be in top 100

Agreed, Martin Schopka. :) What happens, though, is that the the 5-only designs the client reserves the right to pick are enough for him to rely on something solid, in case the 20 picked by the community are of no use. . And the reason the community gets to choose 80% of the final designs is that there HAS to be a community. You have to stimulate that, Jovoto needs that, future projects need that. So, yeah!, one has to make some compromises at times in order to improve. . But you are right, the experts should pick 20, the community 5, because the community has a rather... unusual behaviour.

This topic has been discussed at length. For now we can leave it as it is, all your sides has been understood and noted of.

Will the votes be monitored and filtered later? I can imagine that "Open for all" projects contain a lot of unfair votes.

Yes yes yes, Dennis! ;) No worries. They won't get away.

Good morning everyone,

It's awesome to see your enjoyment in interacting with each other. It is nice to have a community here, albeit on a digital wave. However, since the majority of you are new to jovoto, I want to remind you (mention) that this space under the brief is not a community discussion board. For that we have the jovoto forum. This space here is for project announcements and new questions only!

From my knowledge, all questions asked by you so far have already been answered by me - some multiple times. If you have further comments/questions on already discussed topics or on personal matters send them to me as a Message or open a Forum topic (send me the link and I will happily share it with everyone).

If not, the comment will be removed and answered individually to you in a private Message.

Let's keep things focused and structured. And thank you! You are the best! Diana

Just one advice I want to give. I'm a member of jovoto since Sep 05, 2017 and the jovoto website experience is not very well designed. I visited the jovoto forum a few times but only stay there for less then a minute because there is no activity no people posting there is almost no structure in navigation and layout. This place is not a place for discussions It's not a place where people go an talk to each other. The complete discussions are here and not there, but why?

I also notice after 220 ratings that i got a notification that I reach 300 karma points and I'm now able to finaly rate ideas, what? That means 220 ratings that not work?

People here start discussions about the rating system and the system in general, I guess 85% of all people just want the money.

I think jovoto must be redesigned to make sure that the experience is right. If you look at the designs there are 90% from random non-designers without any experience in design. Is this the right thing that jovoto want to offer to the clients?

All members here on jovoto should be more handpicked to make sure there are real designers and have enough experience. It's very sad that all good design from GREAT designers getting lost and buried by bad designs. They invest time and they solid knowledge to put together a logo design.

...

This comment is still not finished but I must stop somewhere.

Best greetings. _

Hi Kevin and welcome to jovoto :) I am a member of jovoto since 2012. When I started here I first "look around" and try a bit here and there. I read the comments from the other creatives and commented, too. I learned how it works to work in a big community. And after a while I also was a piece of this community-family. I think, if you are interested to work in a crowd and interested to learn from others here on jovoto you should also do so - this are your first 4 days here and you do not know, how it really works here. THIS is only ONE project - YOUR FIRST PROJECT - and it is a PUBLIC one. Professional designers get the "ticket" to work on private projects and the way of working is much better there than in open projects. Jovoto is not a place to only "talk to each other" like on facebook or in a forum. Jovoto is a place where you get the chance to work for big brands - doing your best to impress them and maybe sell your work! Personally I worked on 100 projects since I am a member and I sold 35 ideas. This is 1:3 I get money and 2:3 I get experiences. And this space here - under the briefing - is not the place to talk about your personal thoughts about jovoto and what you love and not love. This is the space for project relevant informations. So maybe - if you want - give jovoto more days to impress you ;) Every project is a chance for every creative, impress big brands with their creative ideas and skills. And sometimes it also can be a steppingstone to the next level.

And I want to say something to all other new members here: Every new member who is thinking long-term: Give jovoto a chance and try more than only one open project before you form your opinion. And every new member who only want to participate in DFB project to "win the trophy": You did your best and submitted your logo(s). Now wait and hold your breath - THIS IS A COMPETITION AND FINALLY ONLY ONE CAN WIN. And if you are not one of the 20 community winners but your logo is really great - than the client will choose your logo and you are one of the 5 best! :) see it loosely it is a competition.

Good luck too you all! DENKdifferent

Kevin Schneider, The contest ended on Sep. 4th. You've become a member on the 5th?, which is when your design was uploaded indeed, together with other users' works. Interesting. :) As for what Jovoto wants to offer to the clients, the "Open To All" projects are just a few. They are probably meant to generate publicity. We, the non-designers newcomers, get excited about it and ask everyone to vote for us (without knowing that their votes don't count). Through me, a designer like you hears about Jovoto.

Upload your work... Ask for an evaluation, and you could join the projects dedicated to Pro's.

Dear Beautiful Creatives of the World,

Here is where we are right now and the next steps in this project:

Voting-Only Period: now - ends on Sept. 10, 23:59 PM (Berlin time), where the jovoto community votes the existing designs.

Monitoring Period: starts on Sept. 11, where all ratings will be checked for fairness by jovoto, and unfair (cheat) ratings will be annulled.

Announcement of the 25 designs that will go into the Jury round: the Top 20 designs from the jovoto community voting (according to the monitoring) + 5 additional designs picked by the client (Client's Shortlist) will be awarded and go into a Jury round.

Announcement of the 5 Jury’s Shortlist winners: from those 25 designs, the Jury will select their favourite 5 designs which will go into the Public Voting planned to be started by the client still in Sept. (on an external platform, not on jovoto).

Announcement of the BIG WINNER: the design shown most love in the Public Voting will be crowned and awarded as the big winner!

Make sure that your personal info (i.e. full name, address, email, etc.) is up to date. And keep an eye on your Inbox, we will be in touch ASAP if you are one of the winners and we will need your immediate response.

That’s it for now! Much love from Berlin, Diana

Vote trading is absolutely not allowed on jovoto. Please do not send messages to other jovoto creatives to ask to vote your idea or to exchange votes! Thanks!

... fair. I'd be curious to know if Jovoto looks into users' inbox. Go figure! If it does, there's no privacy. If it doesn't, then how do you know who's trading votes? :)

Hey Stefan, we usually receive reports (which we keep anonymous), and we encourage you the message the Guide each time this happens in a project.

Of course, we love it when you collaborate and give each other helpful feedback on ideas, and that's very different from trading votes. ;)

These public comments are really unnecessary. 99designs has remove public comments years ago. They don't have any meaning instead we're getting junk emails, worthless comments and invites from other designers to vote for them :) . Client vote is the relevant one. Existing platforms could be the guide for future. ...trying to unsubscribe from these...but no luck for now...

"The client's vote is the relevant one." Agreed! ... but, then the client should be the one who's choosing 20 out of the 25 winning designs, not the other way around. Not for the 200 euros, for God's sake!, but for getting your work a fair evaluation.

Aleksandar: These problems are only in this project. Due to this project is on jovoto hundreds of new users and they are lazy to read and many of them don't know what is "fair play". Normally these comments are very helpful. If you need turn off email notification ... just click "unfollow" on top of this page. :)

Stefan Matei: Other way around? Choosing 25 out of the 20 :) . There are few levels of choosing the logo/ brand. In-house Art stuff then top executive. What fair evaluation? By exchanging the votes between designers ? For God's sake ;)

Tomas Novotny: Although Unfollowed, emails are still coming??

Couldn't agree more with Tomas above. If you stick around a while, you'll see this has been unlike any other contest on here. At first I wondered why Jovoto made such a short time frame. But when I found out that this contest was disclosed and talked about on some football fan (fanatic) sites, and the designs started to come in from so many new people and places, I figured they knew what they were doing, and also knew what was coming. And that there would be some major work ahead in monitoring, and explaining how things work around here, and probably a lot of yellow banners to hand out. I think you'll see in the end that the winners and the losers are, for the most part, exactly where they belong. Everybody may not agree, that's normal. But I trust the system in place. They've been doing this for a long time, but they also continue to refine it, to make the process honest and better. Also you really can't compare this platform to other "crowdsource" sites, that actually take advantage of artist and designers and exploit their time and work. It's best to stay away from those. After this contest is over a lot of the non-designers and fake accounts will disappear.

Aleksandar, You said that "the client vote is the relevant one". All I did was to agree with you. And I added that, because what should matter the most is the client's opinion, as we both agree, it should have been normal to have the client choose 20 first phase winners, and the users to choose 5. Because now it's the other way around: the users choose 20, and the client 5. I'm sorry if I didn't understand what you said, or if I didn't express myself clear enough.

Hmm if I would be client who pays 14k per logo I would like to see all logos over. I would not let community of designers and nondesigners do that for me as there is always that one logo that I would love the most. Weird it is.

Please can you listen to Diana and don't repeat all these questions? Diana is doing such a good job, listen to all of you and gives nice answeres.

Announcement of the 25 designs that will go into the Jury round: the Top 20 designs from the jovoto community voting (according to the monitoring) + 5 additional designs picked by the client (Client's Shortlist) will be awarded and go into a Jury round.

So the Client is picking 5 of all ideas!

For 14K as a client you should give the job to one professional designer or design agency. I'm sure that here they waste time and money. And I guess one of the many bad designs will win, like always ...

I dont think its bad idea to ask for logo on here. They have close to 2k of designs so lots of option. Just the final logo selection is not good. So hope the logo they like most it is.

Dear Petr (& Kevin), your observation is not correct. Please read again the "Awards & timing" section in the brief (or my recent post here). The client wants to give a voice to the community of designers just to see what you all like, but they have actually all the freedom to pick what they like from beginning to end. I am honestly confused why so many of you don't get that. (It is not a complaint, it is just an observation of mine and I'd like to know how to make it even clearer next time!).

Have awesome Sunday! Diana

I want to say something to all new members here: Every new member who is thinking long-term: Give jovoto a chance and try more than only one open project before you form your opinion. And every new member who only want to participate in DFB project to "win the trophy": You did your best and submitted your logo(s). Now wait and hold your breath - THIS IS A COMPETITION AND FINALLY ONLY ONE CAN WIN. And if you are not one of the 20 community winners but your logo is really great - than the client definetly will choose your logo and you are one of the 5 best! To be a CLIENTs CHOICE is much better than to be a Community winner ;) See it loosely it is a competition. :D

Good luck too you all! Stay safe and be always F A I R DENKdifferent

I agree with Ramona, until the point winning values. :)

For me, to be a community winner is a great honor! To be appreciated by so many talented creatives who are actually my competitors. For me, it is equal, if not better to be a community winner than client's choice, or at least shortlist. Not considering the monetary value, where the client's choice pay much better, but the pure joy and respect for my work to be appreciated by fellow creatives, who actually can understand good design and distinguish it when it has merit.

Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, Ramona is right in my opinion - give jovoto a time, work hard and participate more before forming an opinion and giving suggestions for anything. You will see it is working as intended, just the way it is.

Good luck to everyone!

To be not misunderstood: For me it is also a big honor to be a community winner in a project! :) I just wanted to tell the new members that they should not be annoyed or angry or dissappointed if they are not among the community winners in THIS OPEN PROJECT. Because it is really very hard at almost 2000 submissions! And if they are not a community winner they can hope to be a clients choice winner :D In both cases it is honorable and you can be proud to be a choosen one! No question! But even if you not one of the lucky ones: Don't give up! Try it again next time - the next project is knocking on the door ;)

Well said survival fighter !!

DENK I have something to say (again). 1st, I liked your message. 2nd, not only am I new here, but I am a beginner in design, and I am participating for the first time in a contest of any kind. :) Having that said, I now realize that I've been "talking" too much around and some people didn't like it (she / they know who). It didn't cross their mind it was because of the beginner's over-enthusiasm. So! Back to your comment, you are right. Jovoto seems to be a great community and, on my turn, it didn't cross my mind that this contest has drawn tens of new users who have created too much agitation around (me being one of them, and I openly apologize for that, Diana). Yet... Being right in theory is not enough. I see you are a Pro. You probably noticed there is a "The Special One" around. Some sort of a Jose Mourinho of design who's doing... suspiciously well in the Top 100. In my uneducated opinion, all of that Pro's works in this contest are inferior to many of the designs raked beyond the 100th place. That's no coincidence, that's having friends. If you look over all 79 pages I doubt you won't agree. :) So... Your nice and perfectly logical theory is one thing, reality is another. That's what I wanted to say.

There is not only some immunity and even opposition against constructive criticism here. there is also a leak in the ability of understanding the clients advices and the handling of briefings. Example : This client even gave the kind hint not to waste our time with what is widely referred as silhouettes. Later an other kind person named it “swoosh people” here in the comments, trying to help to clarify. The correct term is “neutered sprites”. I also used them till about 15 years ago ! Today among pros there are completely out !! So what we have here is : “The top 100 of overused clichés.” That’s not just my opinion please not take it personally . You can check with what ever up to date design academy or even here. http://www.thelogofactory.com/logos-to-avoid/

The logo factory... an the O's are gear wheels. Nice. :)) In my uneducated opinion, the upper lines of T and E should be inclined... to form a roof. Gears under the roof. Factory.

Btw... If we consider what that page says, more than 50% of the logos here should be out.

True, Volker H. :) There's one which I know from 2010, a friend used it on his 404 error page. The one with the "sad ball". Except it had no ball. And the crown wasn't half covered.

Then this: https://www.shutterstock.com/pt/image-vector/creative-soccer-player-football-kicks-ball-340995707?src=v2_aG3LjTrix1XJJVO8R-A-1-46

You will know which flipped-one I'm referring to, yet the uploader says he sees no resemblence. I see the same character, same strip colors idea. Different? It's not different. It's just not the same (how deep!, haha).

Hi everyone, cool discussion here. Now, let's keep it nice and short again, and respectful to everyone's newsfeeds and emails. The comments with the personal evolution of your ideas will be removed and answered in a personal message to you.

If you want to post about voting / monitoring: don't(!) create a new post - click REPLY here. If you have a question: please send me a Message.

Diana, not everyone reads this message. Especially new-commers. We don't read everything. You've posted that before, and, for an instance, I didn't read it. And because I didn't, I kept adding new posts -- which you thought it was because I disregarded your request. It wasn't anything like that.

Maybe this message from you should be in big font. Or it should float on the right. Or it should pop up every time we open this page. There are too many messages here, and it's easy to skip / overlook a few.

You have Creative ideas Stefan ;) I think Diana knows that it was Not your Intention to make her Crazy with all of your comments (I Hope so!) ;) hopefully she is Ok... ;) I think you as a new member with all of your First Impressions here on jovoto should make a Short List with all of that Points and Maybe with your ideas to solve this Problems. You can Open a new treat at the jovoto Forum and maybe other new members have also ideas and like to comment there. I am sure jovoto will read all your ideas and try to find Solutions to improve the Plattform. :) good luck!

Thanks, Stefan, unfortunately at the moment we cannot do that technically. So all I can do is hope people see it and do my best to followup on everyone. ;)

DENKdifferent, all's good. :)

/The Reply link for voting/monitoring don't work/

I would say the monitoring should be done after the voting periode, its not fair that people can't vote for a design or that the raitings not count. (If i miss understood that the explanation on that topic in the section is not good, i read it multiple times.)

My advice for votings is: Give everyone just 1-3 Voices. Better just 1 chance to vote for just ONE design, thats a easier, fairer voting.

(Optional: Give people the option to bookmark a first selection of logos they like, then they can pick one for voting or remove logos again to end up with just one option. Just in case people want a better filter option, I personaly don't need that option.

That is a good suggestion, Kevin. It is something that came across our mind a few times as well. ;)

If you want to post about voting / monitoring: don't(!) create a new post - click REPLY here. If you have a question: please send me a Message.

Then... Add that message next to the form at the bottom of the page. We cannot create a new post without writing in the "write new post" form, so everyone will see it there. You could also disable the "post" button.

I know what you mean, thanks Stefan.

Hi guys, I have to admit I also have problems with the rating system. The fact of letting the community vote for the design of their competition is ambiguous. There are ways to foster constructive criticism, but I think the final judgement with a vote is not the right way or the right moment to express it, especially if it involves people who worked personally for the same project. This means: - first thing the voters should be only designers that didn't take part to the specific project - the vote should start only in the 5 days of the rating after the submission period is ended - the logos should appear completely randomly on the first page, not by date of submission or by popularity, so that it would offer the same visibility to all the submissions. - as a designer I'd prefer that also my design would be presented to the client, independently from the rating, especially if the system is not efficient. So I'd suggest to make two parallel ratings, one made by the community and the other by the client. I think that also as a client I'd prefer to use even half a day of work to vision all the 2000 logos submitted rather than vision only the first 25 voted, that might not even follow the brief, as most of the top logos voted in this project. - finally the lack of coherence of many of the logos with the brief makes me wonder, as some my colleagues already did between these comments, on the system of recruiting of the professionals here, which is above all important when they are also involved in the rating system (even more if they are supposed to reduce 2000 logos in just 25 to present to the client!), so I'd suggest to hand-pick them based on their experience and website portfolios. This are my first impression. I hope my colleagues will have the chance to review my logo and that the client will be able to give it a look, independently from its rating:) Good luck guys and may really the best one win!:))

@Andrea I see you're new here on Jovoto ...

The Community's vote is a consolidated practice on this platform, it certainly has certain limits (which can be improved), but also a precise prerequisite for being.

If you gain access to a new experience on a crowdsorcing platform, assuming that their systems are inadequate, it is better not to participate ... it is more coherent.

If you believe that among professionals (the question is: are we talking about professionals?) You can not make objective evaluations on the work of others, even if in competition, better not show your own work to anyone! But so you does not grow professionally.

I consider myself a professional. To think that someone believes I am not able to give an objective vote to the work of others just because my momentary competitor, I find it offensive to my intelligence and my professionalism.

I have the impression, however, that beginner creatives are the first to always remain dissatisfied with the voting schemes and votes received.

My work in this competition is not going higher than 6.04, which makes me think that my work did not focus on the goal (although many non-professionals participate in the vote), so first I have to put questioning my work. Of course it may also happen that it is a "ingenious" but not understood job.

But ALL competitions are so ... Good luck!

Thank you for your comments, Andrea. Points 2 and 3 are features we are currently working on. So, spot on! ;)
Point 3 - that will happen - as mentioned by me numerous times, the client will see all logos (has seen is a better word) that have been submitted, including yours. Point 1 - currently both those who have worked on the project and not can vote. There are many arguments against your suggestion, but I understand the basic thought behind your suggestion and I can see its relevance. Point 5 - "(even more if they are supposed to reduce 2000 logos in just 25 to present to the client!" you have misread that. The client looks at all (ca. 2000 logos) and picks 5. It is the Jury that only looks at selection of 25. So, all good there. Again, always read the brief carefully. ;) Most answers are there. Cheers, Diana

Andrea Tavolaro, I agree with all of your suggestions / observations. As for Mario Barbieri, his "makes me think that my work did not focus on the goal" leads to what I wanted to say. There are too many designs that:

-- don't really say "football"; -- say "Germany", but nothing other Europeans can relate to; -- are built around silhouettes; -- are built around trophies; -- look like they're made out of stock images.

That's what's disappointing.

It doesn't feel good to finish on the 800th place (my case). But it feels even worse to see cheap logos in Top 100, and especially amongst those in Top 20.

Damn!, I talk too much. :) But, Andrea, it has just occured to me that there might be a problem with your 1st point: "the voters should be only designers that didn't take part to the specific project."

How many voters that have no stake in a contest will read its briefing AND vote according to it?

Suggestions for future projects: (1) Display a short "allowed / unallowed" list next to rating and say "please vote according to these goals". (2) It'd be useful to see how I've rated each work without opening its page. I would know if I have previously rated too low, or too high, and change my rating if necessary.

I'm not even in a top 50. But the final word has the Client. What I want to know, are we allowed to use our non-rewarded images for stock sites after the project ends?

Basically and theoretically yes, you can do that as long as you are the owner of your design.

Hi Igor, you can read this in the project terms (under the briefing): "By submitting an idea to a project, the creative grants the rights of use listed in section 3 to jovoto.

3.1 Even when participating in a project or submitting an idea, the creative still retains the right, without restriction on content, time or space, to use his own idea for the purpose of self-promotion provided he observes the rights of third parties, in particular those of the client. This does not apply to the first six months following the end of the submission phase of a project. During this period, the creative is not permitted to use his idea in any other manner. The client's trademarks and other related rights may only be used if and when the client explicitly allows this for the performance of the competition."

Indeed, Igor, your work belongs to you and can sell it as you wish once three months exclusivity period is over. :)

⚽ The enthusiasm and excitement grow by every hour passed . It is C R A Z Y that I cannot wait to see all the nominees, which designs will go further and which logo will be the winner one.

I know that this is not possible but after this contest will end I would be honored to have the opportunity to shake hands with every single designer that was involved in this contest in a form of recognition, respect and fair play.

I.m saying this because it's M A S S I V E to see such creatives and cool ideas here from all over the world. It is important to be conscious about the thing that some times you win sometimes you lose but the thing that matters the most is that you have to L E A R N from every experience that crossed your way, improving yourself in becoming better and better. I choose to speak in this way about the contest because I love what I.m doing, doing it with pure heart, dedication and patience and I think that dedication is one of the important pillars in everything you do.

I hope to bring you a smile beside all the negative comments and complaints out here. Work smart, don't forget the struggle and stay humble!

Congratulations to everyone and I hope this post will not trigger anyone because this is not the intention!

May the best one win and hoping for a fair judgment!

This is it! This is the last half an hour to cast you votes! And then the Monitoring Phase starts!

Have a great night, Diana

Yeah =D I have watched all 1829 ideas and rated my favorites.

Have a great night too Diana <3

it was hard contest good luck for every one from 2 rank to 28 to 8 to 11 and also there is many talent here that was the hardest contest i enter to it have good luck everyone

..and when the monitoring phase ends?

Did anybody else noticed that there were a lot of newbie accounts with suspicious names and little other info given on their profile page like-where from, that voted just once on other newbies designs or left a one word comment in many cases and didn't show up anywhere else? ? What do you make of this? Self created fake accounts...maybe to vote on their own designs? Dubious!!

According to the rules, you need to have earned 300 Karma points for your vote to actually count (so the ranks are still not 100% certain). I don't even feel sorry for everyone who wasted their time on creating fake accounts and voted only for themselves, whilst still being at 102 and 104. Under "Find new Collaborators" you are able to see who is currently online and I found that hundreds of those accounts were popping up during the voting phase. I hope the monitoring process filters them for a fair competition in addition to people with yellow banners and those who sent vote for vote requests. I actually started to enjoy being part of the jovoto community so this really should not spoil the experience. Well done everyone (except the cheaters) and I can't wait to see who has won!

It's even more funny that people had empty accounts for sending msges for trading ideas and just posted a link to their real account with their entries. Just so ugly.

Dear Rositsa, yes, that is really silly from them. ;)

Since it was mentioned about needing 300 karma points in order to vote, I wondered if that was the case in the suspicious fake accounts I was referring to, And maybe I didn't notice the details in their profile stats. So I went back to check it out, and it was pretty easy to find these examples (below). These "members" all have around 102 karma points (give or take), with suspect names, list no country where they're from, and all were able to log 1 or 2 votes, only on the one idea where they show up, and usually leave a simple overly positive comment. So more positive votes, and comments posted would have the effect of moving them up closer to, or into the "Top 100". So the statement- "needing 300 karma to vote", doesn't exactly hold up here. I think these people/accounts should've been more closely vetted. And I noticed this all over the newbies designs. It seems like someone discovered this trick and spread it to all their friends on social media, who they knew were taking part, and it spread out like a virus. These are just a few examples- https://www.jovoto.com/community/123456789mM https://www.jovoto.com/community/Michael_3 https://www.jovoto.com/community/martinjhon https://www.jovoto.com/community/zizo https://www.jovoto.com/community/abdoumaher https://www.jovoto.com/community/mariansalib https://www.jovoto.com/community/salibsabry https://www.jovoto.com/community/mariansalib https://www.jovoto.com/community/aydamonir I hope Jovoto can plug this loop-hole.

@tcurtisart nobody said "needing 300 karma to vote". Every registered user (even those suspicious fake accounts) can vote BUT for their vote to actually count later after the monitoring process a total of 300 karma points has to be collected. With only 102 and 104 karma their votes will be annulled as far as I am concerned.

@Vincent, I wasn't exactly referring to you, I've seen it mentioned before, so I wondered if I was mistaken, that's why I went back to have a look. I hope that's the case in what you say, that those 1 or 2 votes won't be counted. But rating votes or not, the greater number of comments posted would have the effect of making their idea more popular, hence moving them up the ladder, and gaining more views, and probably more votes. Anyway thanks for your comment.

am i the only one who think that top 100 list should hide until monitoring process is finished?

Maybe with a contest like this there shouldn't be a top 100 presented. On other, normal Jovoto crowdstorms, you can kind of figure out how you're doing by the numbers your seeing on you own entry,. Especially if you've entered more than one contest and have some experience with how normal voting works.

My comments that based only on facts are always removed, why?

DianaJianu

Those with many numbers are removed because I need to check those and answer those in private. I am still catching up with my inbox, so thanks for your patience.

Hello, I read all the comments and I have different experiences. I feel a little disappointment because of all that try to fool the contest (all the situations above) but also I think that in this community are a good designers who respects himself in the first place so I'm confident. For all the designers that try to cheat I want to say you will be fooling yourself. Cheers and keep up the good work!

Dear Creatives of the World,

I and the client want to first THANK YOU ALL(!) for your participation (designs, feedback, votes etc.) and your huge engagement into this project. Wow!

We’ve never run such a short public project on jovoto. And we are happy that we took the chance. Short, but definitely intense!

And now it’s time to announce the 25 designs which will go into the Expert (Jury) voting. … drumroll ..

20x Community Prizes (as voted by the jovoto community, after Monitoring):

Celebrate together by Tina Szekely Essence of Football 2024 by Andrea Pesci Heart’s Desire by Alex Flämig Euro 2024 Metamorphosis by bogdanelsiecheru Swirl by unlime Germany for Euro 2024 by Davide Rino Rossi Pleasant Anticipation by Alex Flämig Excitement for All by Vali Nastase Open Hand by Nenad Maksimovic Community & Euphoria by Mariya & Oleksandr Galeta Joining Pieces, Connecting People by Vincent Merbecks We Win Together! by Piotr Wycichowski Germany 2024: We are all one by Martin Alvarez Ruz German Football Euphoria 2024 by wildyracing & joanaf EURO 2024 – Germany by Abdalrahman Hassanine Vortex of Soccer by Raffaele Mollica Heart of Football by Marius Fechete Passion by joanaf & Pavlina K Euro 2024 by Dino Sabanovic v by Metodi Angelov

So many beautiful designs from all the parts of the world!

The next step: From these 25, the Jury will pick in the upcoming days the five designs which will go into the Public Voting (held on an external platform).

If you are in the list of today’s winners, please check your email regularly (as of right now!). We will need your quick replies.

I hope you’ve had fun too! Much love from Berlin, Diana

In short...

Out of the first 20, I don't see how 11 of them got there. :) But the more surprising part is the client's short list. With one exception... I can honestly say that 4 pieces are nothing I would have ever considered, quality-wise. Moreover, one of them has absolutely nothing to do with what he, the client, asked for in the first place.

But, yes!, it's been an interesting experience.

Where have you ever read, Mircea, that the ideas with "swoosh people, trophy, eagles" will be removed from the competition? Please copy paste that text. You misunderstood this.

Thank you, Mircea. As you can see all we said was "to avoid" the eagles, trophy and cup not because it will be removed, but because the cup would not take your design in the selected 25 (and is there any?! there isn't). AND because the eagle and the sillhouettes etc. are hard to work with and make them unique (it was a simple advice to you). That was it! So that's my answer to your question.

The rules were kept! Next time we will try even harder to make things crystal clear.

I can't refrain myself... Can I have the right to speak my mind? -- and not be deleted. Thank you!

Watching Top 100's evolution, I did burst out in laughter several times. Half-way into the contest I knew how Top 20 will turn out. That was something I have long understood, and accepted. I managed to see the bright side to that, and found it fun: "Let's see how ridiculous can it get?" -- you know.

No!, it's not that my work didn't make it there. It's half of the works in Top 100 being inferior to many ranked 100+. It takes no expert to see that. So, again... I was ready for the final voting results. But I wasn't ready for the client's offensive choices.

If I may:

*** 1 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63661

This Pro's single submission has poor graphics (rough edges, dull colors). No black on white version (required). 100% empty description fields. Poor font. Simple stock appearance. No reference to football, other than... "UEFA EURO 2024" -- larger size font than "candidate for".

To me, this upload from Germany looks like a "you can't win if you don't play"...

*** 2 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62335

0% football 0% Germany 0% Europe 0% people 0% joy / enthusiasm 100% neutral in all aspects. At best, this old overused technique can be interpreted here as a highly abstract depiction of stadium supporters waves. It shouldn't be enough.

*** 3 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/64504

0% football 100% Germany 0% Europe 0% community Questionable traces of joy / enthusiasm message. :) But the client is always right, right? Right! It is offensive.

Mircea hopidea, what do you mean with "generic user"?

I'm a student attending the Accademia di Belle Arti of Rome in order to earn the Editorial Graphics degree, I'm at the second year, and I've studied graphic independently for six years during and before the high school. So what? If I am not already a professional graphic designer does it means my works are worst than yours or even my theoretical preparation isn't good?.

Experience doesn't necessary equals to quality and originality, and that's a point. Most of you guys arguing about the bad top25 selection are demanding to be the selected ones basing on the fact that you're professional graphic designers or whatever with more experience but this is not a thing, it only proves that at this point you're used to work in a certain way not that ALL your works are top quality projects and NEED to be better than the others.

I'm not okay with the top25 too, but I'm just saying it's unuseful to base an arguing on your own experience level.

It's amazing feeling to read names of winners that broke the rules and asked me in PM to rate their designs. I knew that voting system isn't built very well. However, I would like to congratulate to those that really made great visuals!

I don't see any. Everyone who was reported to us was given the yellow band and their votes were under thorough review which made them lose precious spots. Since I did this myself, so I know exactly what has been done and how. And you haven't reported anyone, have you?!

Hello Designers, I've always wanted to say something but i kept holding myself back, but when i saw the 5 Client's Shortlist, i'm really disappointed ( no offense to the winning designers ) about those 5 designs, do you really think that's relevant for the event ? well i don't know but from what i've seen there is a lot of beautiful creations that could've won ! I am pretty sure some designers will agree with me.

َAgree ! I don't believe what I see in the final rank ..

Thanks! I could not believe that I was in the top 50! Well done to all

like i thought client has picked their shortlist from top 100 list. it is quite sad after all this vote trade that happened . many many many great ideas were hidden only because they had no big team support behinfd them. i feel absolutely sad for all of them.

DianaJianu

That is not correct. There are 5 Client Shortlists. One is on place 343, another one on 112, and the last one on 577. So three out of five are NOT from top 100.

Well, those are the top 20 Community prizes - which obviously in the top 100 voted by you. They are the first 20.

Superb selection. It looks like a Rick and Morty episode in a parallel universe.... Congrats to all!;)

..i counted it takes 80 hours to check all of 1900 ideas(5 minutes each). we hear results 2 days after voting was finished??

the customer and the jury were already able to watch all contributions already during the vote. Congrats to all winners!

DianaJianu

The client has been looking at the submitted ideas throughout the entire project because they knew the tight timing, so they had the time to see all ideas. Also, 5 minutes is a long time for an idea. I personally take a much quicker look. :)

Congratulations all winners, thanks Jovoto for experience ! [ APPLAUSE]

Congratulations

Big congratulations to all involved parties!

Good luck and best wishes!

Congrats to all and good luck for the next steps! Oleee Oleeee Oleeee Oleeee ;) PS: I'm already a little bit sad about that my dream - to meet Jogi Löw in personal - unfortunately will not go into fulfillment :( what a pity... ;)

I'm dissapointed...not because I didn't won, because my designs were not that good, but some of the winning designs (especially those that were chosen by the comunity) doesn't respect the brief that much. There are a lot of "dynamic and athletic football player images, sleek winding, sporty figures"...exactly what the client said to avoid. However, congratulations to the winners and good luck in the next stage.

how many votes together? i guess around 200 000. They said every votes will be checked. they really did it in one and half day ;)

Thank you for your question. The project received 65 374 ratings. And yes, it is possible to do monitoring that quick.

Rank 599. ^^ some PS brushes are next to my 1 week idea xD thats soo sad..

Congratulations for all winers, and good luck to the other participants in other competitions. And I would like to thank "Diana Gianno" for her efforts, Thank you so much Diana.

Gianno?! haha, funny. Thank you, Khaled.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Just a miss typing. :)

Where can we see the list of the 25 winners?

I can only count 22 in the top 100

:D

I did the monitoring in 1 working day.

40 hours is around 144 000 seconds. 65 000 ratings to check ;)

Well said, Volker! Very good point.

@Volker: good tip for the client, the next time they can get a logo even cheaper if they just take one of the stock images from your link :D

Dear irradianailon2,

As you can imagine, it is 2017 and we have smart algorithms that show us behaviours and interrelations which help us (me) take action without having to go through each vote manually and look at it for minutes and minutes long. I can understand though that without having seen it, it is hard to imagine how this algorithm could work.

Anyway, if you have further questions, I am happy to answer them.

Cheers, Diana

Congratulations for all winers, and good luck !!

So if I see correctly 2 out of 5 chosen by the client says UEFA?

:D

Hey Petr, that is correct. And that is fine because in the Halftime Feedback it is clearly mentioned and visually shown that the text UEFA CAN be used if used in a certain way, which is exactly the way they used it.

I am happy to clarify it further if you still have questions, Diana

I'm gonna to unsubscribe to the jovoto newsletter and i'm gonna delete my jovoto account. However i will use this contest as a case study of "what avoid to jump ahead your competitors". Good luck to all the stocky or out-brief logos! If Germany is happy, everyone is.

So even after monitoring my profile has a yellow banner. I had high hopes you would notice the mistake after "monitoring", how can my votes not count and be unfair only cause I voted clipart and stock image logos from 1 to 4? It's not really unfair, just having standards as a designer. I gave quite a lot good ratings to people who really deserved it.

As for the winners good luck, however it's sad to see some low quality work in the top 20 voted by the community, but I guess these are the perks of having such a system, where if you vote 10 for a clipart logo you are good to go, but if you rate it lowly you are being unfair.

Hey Blin, if you want clarifications why a yellow band has appeared on your profile, please write me a message and I will be happy to follow up on that.

I think it is unfair that the client has chosen an idea, which has not been explained.

https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63661

also, it's a plagiarism of the Rio 2016's logo

If you ask me, I think it's not even created in vector, look at those lines.

I really like how the designer explained his/her concept. I don't want to be offensive to anyone but I think that they don't respect our work hours on this project. What 'soon' does it mean in a concept like this? Another bad copy with no relation to football. It's so embarrassing for designers. If I knew it before, I could design three classic people with a heart and a ball and Voila! What a shame...

I am really sorry that you are not a customer choice! But please be careful with such allegations. Many Thanks

Totally agreed, and some are generic which gives the impression that the client doesn't know what he's doing, he needs a little bit of guidance i might say ! Forgive me if i'm wrong.

Eduardo Mancilla... She was chosen precisely because her logo is SO good that it needed no explaining. :)) Her logo says: "A chinese (yellow) and a native-american (red) are jumping on a black person holding hands." Watch and learn from the best!

... kinda racist that logo.

Dear Eduardo, although we do our best to remind you to fill out all questions by leaving countless messages under your ideas because we know the impact of a complete idea, we cannot make (force) anyone (your or her..) to fill them out. You decide what is important to you and how you want to do your work.

Cheers, Diana

Dear Kostas, as Tina mentioned, we are all fellow creative people here, so let's keep the tone and content of the comments constructive. You can say your mind while being professional towards your fellow designer (and the client), whether you like their work, and appreciate their effort, or not.

Tina it is not something personal but your are uploading a design without a concept, without a B&W version and you finally won. I don't comment this in order to persuade anyone about my designs but only to criticise the jury and of course not your effort.

I wonder... Why there are eligible winning submissions that don't have the fonts names specified?!

irradianailon2

one working day is around 6 hours=360 minutes working 360:65500(ratings)= 0,005 minutes this was time to check each votes were given fair!

I'm not disagreeing with your math, just the one working day= 6 hrs...Really!! Where? That's not an average working day over here across the pond, wish my average working day was only 6 hrs!

irradianailon2

tcurtisart if you do work where you need to use your brain it is maximum time you can really give for your work in one day.

DianaJianu

A working day is 8 hours, irradianailon2!

DianaJianu

But in this project it has been much longer than that. ;)

And someting else. Some of the designs doesn't have a black & white wersion...or the designs are not presentd on a neutral white background....and there is a difference between b&w and grayscale.

I see a lot of complaining (with most of it I agree) but really guys - most (not all don't leave unnecessary comments about this) of the people muttering here had voted for less than 150 designs - so how do you expect a fair vote if you don't vote. Those who vote choose the winner or at least make an effort given the circumstances. I may or may not like the outcome but at least voted and try my best.

Have a nice day all of you!

@Tina First of all, i think your design is allright. What i can't get my head around is, that you are a professional and that you uploaded such a low quality jpg. I mean why? Why didn't you write something about your design? You must have had the time to dedicate 10min for this. This is not cool...

I was pleased to participate .. I gained experience in the challenge .. if in some slogans .. Thank you for organizing this competition

Congratulations everybody and especially the winners. Props to you Diana for your stoicism in handling the sour comments. Marcus Aurelius would have been proud of you :))

Thanks, Darius! ;)

Congratulations to all winners and participants!!

Congratulations to all winners and participants:)

First and also last time I play this unfair game with an unfair logic behind, It's just convenient for clients and a waste of time for a lot of professional designers. I won't spend even 1 minute more on this website, anyway congratulations to winners and I really appreciated positive comments on my idea, thanks!

Hello Diana,

First of all congratulations to the winners!

I just want to show everybody here the source of "inspiration" of the Logo: Germany 2024 by Kamil Guse chosen by the Client...

https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image-vector/white-modern-business-brochure-leaflet-flyer-446479594?src=COMHI8yGREar75Bc1Q0ESw-1-64

Suspiciously similar... When "ideas" like this are winning it's really demotivating

Dear Estuardo, thank you for your post. I will send you a message regarding your report. Next time please use the report button and best before the end of Voting phase.

Cheers, Diana

That would mean, there is one empty spot now!

srsly the wining desgin suprised me becouse there was many strg desginw ich i see is hard to win with them but no one of them wi like the flower and many etc lol already there is generic logos win

Did the client read the brief? :)) I cannot stress enough how insulting his short-list is. Did he bother to review the submissions, or has he flipped a coin?

*** 1 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63661

Rough edges, dull colors. No black / white version (required). 100% empty description fields. Unmentioned, dull fonts. Ordinary stock appearance. No reference to football, besides... "UEFA EURO 2024", larger size font than "candidate for".

It is this German Pro who seems to have been selected, not her design which can be argued for carrying a racist & violent message: two people (yellow / red) holding hands and sitting on another (black) laying on the ground.

*** 2 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62335

0% football 0% Germany 0% Europe 0% people 0% joy / enthusiasm 100% neutral in all aspects.

At best, this old overused technique can be interpreted here as an abstract depiction of stadium supporters waves. It shouldn't be enough.

*** 3 *** https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/64504

0% football 100% Germany 0% Europe 0% community Stock appearance. Questionable traces of joy / enthusiasm message.

:)

I suspect that the client already had a logo (therefore "client reserves the right to consider other solutions"). This contest must've been a last minute marketing decision (thus the very short submission phase, the over-the-night evaluation / monitoring) which could have offered a better logo, and was going to draw more attention on Germany's candidacy. A bidding where the wide public is included (on both sides, creation and decision making) can be advertised as such -- drawing more media publicity and public attention.

Unfortunately, you are right, man. It was my first and last contest in jovoto. All I see here is rooky and lame designs (sorry for these words but it is the truth) winning. I am saying this as a professional with 15 years of experience. And this insane way of rating... I have no words to describe my disappointment. I guess the idea here is NOT to generate good professional designs. Such a shame.

Good observation Stefan. I totally agree with your statement!

For the records, the DFB has no ready logo and this is not for publicity.

https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62335

The designer... ... he didn't even have the inspiration to use 24 dots instead of 28. If he would have done that much!, at least.

irradianailon2

I'm speechless!

Easy guys, next project work on stock images and free vectors ,change the color and the copy and is done.

The community prices are pretty solid.

But the client's shortlist...

Here are some quotes of the halftime feedback:

  1. DO NOT use any reference to UEFA: no UEFA logo, name, cup or other symbols in your design!

In any case it is super important to capture the client’s imagination by a) creating a great design but b) also explaining your design choices! This is why filling out the questions in the idea upload form is very important to the client.

https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/63661

I mean, come on!

Dear Dagmar,

This is a project open to the world, and everyone can participate if they wish to. The same with the brief - if you want to follow the brief you can do it, if not not. Unless you are not allowed to do something and we precisely mention that all ideas that will do that will be removed (which we did in this project too - removing ca. 200 ideas that used the UEFA name not correctly), we cannot force anyone do something (i.e. write the text to all those questions, for instance). We can leave comments to remind you what could make your idea better, and we can encourage you to do things, but it is 100% your choice.

Also, from what we've seen, 95% of the time the client picks their ideas very according to the brief. This is why we always say "be on the safe side, follow the brief". If you don't, maybe they still pick you, but the chances are very low. Well, this time, some exceptions did happen

I hope that helps a bit. Diana

:D

Hey Sayam,

If you want to report an idea, please send me a message or use the report button, as I cannot know that such a post is asking for action from us. While it is just a post, I cannot take action on it.

Cheers, Diana

Sayam, i want to be honest even if i had already criticised another logo above... They are not the same designs. Its the same idea but more of them are similar to each other. I dont know, maybe i am wrong but i dont think that it is a copy of these samples.

Hey everyone, based on all the info we've received, this entry (https://www.jovoto.com/projects/aim-shoot-score/ideas/62335) is original. And yes, just as Kostas naturally put it, when there are so many designs and vectors using a certain graphic approach, they start resembling or one can see similarities and assume possible stock work.

Cheers, Diana

Did the client read the brief? Good Question Stefan :) Do we in the future do not care about the brief!! Accept my respectful , And Congratulations to the winners . Essam El Din

Hey Essam, maybe this helps.

Dear Creators How do I know if the project has been nominated by the client? Or how do I know who the candidates are please?

In the end, what we see in this contest is that many participated (maybe too many). Many have subscribed for the first time on jovoto (perhaps knowing little about the rules of the platform). Many will not come back (maybe not bad). Many do not know how to lose (and basically think their job was better than others).

The vow of the Community has its own dynamics, which are not always shared (It's always like this).

The Client's choice is the most interesting and shows the guidelines with which you have to compare your work and ask yourself: could my work really fit into the Client's choice?

Dude, first of all i respect your opinion but you'r wrong your not even participated to this contest which means you have no idea about the brief or client comments supposing that, and i'm not sure how you judge other upset candidates or based on what, many ideas was eliminated for the same reasons that winners already had! . I'm almost 1 year old Jovotian and I know about the rules and I respect, but this project is really driven me insane just like everyone else we used to follow the brief, guidelines and client feedback in this platform, and before even the voting phase we can predict the winners and how really they deserve to win, but this time it's just weird ! I had a long discussion with the mentors and I can say that this time is really one of their worst monitoring ever there were just trying to justify their mistakes (Literally). this's not jovoto that we used to !
Thanks

OMG, Mario! :)) Your comment is a textbook example of polishing the boss' shoes. Three of DFB's choices have absolutely nothing to do with its own briefing requirements. Please do not insult our intelligence!

I am openly accusing all of you, those who congratulated those certain 3 designers, of hypocrisy. Otherwise I'd have to question your "eye" for what a decent design is, what makes sense and what doesn't.

It's not that the likes of you "know how to lose": what you know is the politics of adapting. Your values are what the unshared "community dynamics" require, because that's what helped others here, and that's what will help your future projects.

Unlike us, the ones who have nothing to lose by speaking our minds, you know you will return: and you can't afford doing the same.

mario haha you just underlined that you accept copies..i guess you are not professional designer if you say words like this, good luck for your career ;)
