Solution

I wanted to show the european community. Therefore I choose the colour blue like in the european flag. Three players/fans put their arms over their shoulders and stand united on the top of a big V - for Victory. Because the center of the match is Football and Victory. The 3 stars on the top stands for Europe and the 3 stars on the bottom stands for the 3 german 1st ranks of the European Championships in the past. And additional to that there is also a heart - formed by the white space of the 3 players/fans and the lace of the V. :)

Please describe the creative approach you took to your design

Together. Respectful. United. I want to show the community of all 24 Nations. In the center of the match there is Football and Victory. And because it should happen in germany I border our flag around that center.

Why should your design become the logo for the bidding phase?

Because it represent all important elements which the logo should have: Community, Respect, Together, Football in the Center, Germany as host. And because I want to meet Jogi Löw ;)
