There's no need to describe this in more detail. What you see is what you get. Logo is simple to use, memorable, fun. There's also a silhouette of the trophy in the background. It is very light so it doen't disturb the main part of the logo.

Please describe the creative approach you took to your design

I used a practical approach because this logo will be used huge and tiny, in colour and in black and white, on light backgrounds and also dark. The logo must be versatile to work well.

Please explain how you incorporated the messages, values and mandatory elements outlined above into your design

Fans are the key element to the whole game. They create it – therefore they created the soccer ball with their silhouettes. With them, there's no ball – no game. The ribbon in german colours goes nicely around the ball, supporting it or 'holding it'. This way it says: We are Germany, and we're holding this year's games and we welcome all fans from all continents (5 continents = 5 fans).

Why should your design become the logo for the bidding phase?

It incorporates everything that's needed. It's simple and well balanced.
