EURO 2024 Skew
LOGO for Germany’s bid to become host of the European Football Championship in 2024
1/6

Solution

The concept of the design represents a simple, yet modern approach between the text that is needed (as specified in the brief) plus elements that represent football as a sport and also elements that represent the German community and the union between the 24 countries that will participate in the 2024 event.

Please describe the creative approach you took to your design

First of all, I wanted the design to be minimalistic and easy to remember. I also wanted to come up with some elements that won't distract the viewer from reading the text in the logo in a different order that it should be read as. Even though I love symmetry, I made the logo a bit skewed so that the focus wont be just on the text, but on the logo as a whole.

Please explain how you incorporated the messages, values and mandatory elements outlined above into your design

The first message and the most evident one is the text itself that wants Germany to host the EURO championship in 2024. The second message tells us it's about football, and that the ball that will be used in the championship will be used on German territory. The other messages are more subtle. There are 24 dots that represent the 24 nations which will take part in the championship; they also represent people holding hands if you count the lines from the "outer circle".

Why should your design become the logo for the bidding phase?

My design should become the logo for the bidding phase because it is a modern logo that represents Football and Germany in a wonderful way, and embraces unity between more communities which are looking forward for a championship with enthusiasm.

HAVE YOU READ THE" GUIDELINES, REGULATIONS & COMMENTS" SECTION IN THE BRIEF AND IS THIS YOUR ORIGINAL WORK?

I have read the "GUIDELINES, REGULATIONS & COMMENTS" section from the brief, and this is all my original work, except for the font.
