A flower is a friendly, welcoming and positive symbol. I wanted people to be represented, so the petals represent fans from 24 nations. Their dynamic shows the enthusiasm and energy of fans. A football field is in the center, stating what the event is about. Colours of the German flag are incorporated, so that the host country is evident.
I started with making notes from the brief to absorb the information well. The notes helped me create a mind map, which in turn led to picturing ideas in sketch form. After choosing this concept I developed the image digitally into the final form and tested out some fonts to find a fitting one.
The flower symbol stands for hospitality and positive emotions. The 24 petals represent 24 nations taking part in EURO 2024 and also football fans gathered around the football pitch. Football, which is symbolised at the center, attracts people and brings them together. The mark incorporates the colours of German flag, as the host. Green colour is added as reference to the football pitch and as a placeholder for fans from other nations. The dynamic shape of the petals conveys the enthusiasm.
I believe that it delivers the message of Germany being a host that can give people an exciting experience and a chance to connect with fans from around Europe. And as an experienced logo designer I am confident that it looks professional and attractive. And the emblem shape seems fitting and practical.
