Solution

My logo shows shaking hands, the football field/the stadium, and the energy of the game pictured by the movement of the circle. The colors used are the colors of the national flag and the DFB.

Please describe the creative approach you took to your design

My first thought was that I didn't wanted to show the cup because thats not what football is all about. So I tried to remember what was special about the WM in 2006. And that was that people from all over the world came to germany, made new friends and had a good time. For me it was a turning point in german history where people finally could be proud of their country again and even present the german flag in public; so I brought it into my design.

Please explain how you incorporated the messages, values and mandatory elements outlined above into your design

The main message in my logo is that there is more to football than just winning a cup. It's about friendship, making new friends and meet people from all over the world pictured by the shaking hands. The round form stands for unity, the ball/the sport and the place (the stadium) where all this will happen.

Why should your design become the logo for the bidding phase?

It is colorful, clean and has a simple, strong and important message everyone can understand.
