Proposition for Germany logo bid for EURO 2024
It's in your heart.

Solution

The logo should represents two main values - euphoria and community. For the first one I picked the heart shape as the heart simply associated with great emotions. Whole scene take place inside the heart shape. There are people, football fans, Germans, Europeans, people of the world, they don't care about what is your color skin or convictions, they are gathered by joy, happiness, EUPHORIA of the football event. They are rising hands to show theirs excitement and one of them is holding a German's flag to represents the host. On the bottom part of logo is piece of ball to remind everyone that those emotions are because of the football, the king of the sports. Football is a basis of the tournament and the main element that brings fans from all of the World together into Germany to celebration of one of the greatest events in sports industry. On the ball I've made a unique theme which looks like simplified horns (because at such events and the storm of emotions there should be noise). The horns are in three colors of the German's flag and this theme is repeated inside the human's figures inside the heart shape. Horns represents noise but also could be a symbol of dialogue between fans from different countries. They speak in different languages (colors of the horns) but football is a universal way of communications and the humans feels united during celebration time. Moreover the layout of the horns create a smiling face inside the heart! The red and yellow human figures are cut in the middle to bring more "noise" into the design. Because of this manipulation they looks also like a exclamation marks. I decided to add a simply, rounded font into design and put words: EURO, 2024 and GERMANY one by one on the bottom and separate them with rounded lines in German's flag colors. I did that to show good organization and neatness of the Germans.

Please describe the creative approach you took to your design

To show the emotional aspect of the event I've made a heart shape out of human fugures. On the bottom part of design I put a ball with unique theme. This theme is simplified to one color and repeat iside the heart shape. Human figuers are cut in the half to create a exclamation marks out of them and add some more noise into the design. I decided not to use any brushes or such methods into the design because I think Germans are very well organized and the simply, clear procject would fit better

Please explain how you incorporated the messages, values and mandatory elements outlined above into your design

Heart is representation of the great emotions and feelings. Humans inside the shape create community and they are united during celebration. The ball on the bottom show everyone what brings all together to Germany - it's a football! The simplified horns shape placed between humans are representing different nations and laguages and the layout and compostion of it create a smiling, friendly face inside the heart. I decided to use simply and rounded font and put EURO 2024 GERMANY one by one below

Why should your design become the logo for the bidding phase?

I think it's represents most values you want to achieve. Heart shape has mostly good associations. The friendly smiling, face inside the heart maybe isn't seen on first look but it works on viewer psyche and get him/her comfortable feel. The whole design is simply and clean which makes it looks great on any media. People are creating a community and unity value into logo, they are in euphoria of football fever and they scream about it, celebrate it in the best, positive and attactive way.
