"Cut" any Book into 1 to 5 sub-volumes for lighter versions

One of the common things most people do while travelling from place to place, in the city or outside, is reading books. You can see them read book in planes, in trains, in subway (while going to work or coming back from work), digital books or physical books.

What is the core principle of your idea?

Because time is limited and based on reading speed, people can read up to 100 pages per ride, but they have to cary the entire book in case they are reading the physical versions. The solution is to cut the book in 1 to 5 sub-volumes. Each volume comes with a qrcode at the end of the book = digital bookmark or a code. In case the traveller finished reading the sub-volume, he she can continue reading the book on the phone or tablet, during the ride

Can your idea be applied to different formats (in a bookstore, at a trade fair, at a conference)?

Yes. The books being created in sub-volumes, will ocuppy less space on the shelf and in the same time give the reader the posibility to read physically and virtually.

Would it be possible to turn your idea into a reality, or at least create a prototype of it, at short notice, i.e. by the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2014?

Yes. All is needed is to add covers for each volume and the

What do you estimate the costs for the prototype or the final implementation of your idea to be?

Reprintig, around 3 -5 euro for a sub-volume of 100 pages, paperback version.
