A fully intuitive and simple answer to the demands of the market.

System in its simplest form is based on a touch screen on which books are displayed. The module contains a database enabling searching and finding a book based on title, author, key words, genre, and other methods of classification. Selection of a book from the database causes it to be displayed on a digital bookshelf. A hand gesture, touching the screen in a swiping motion, or a voice command, cause following pages to be displayed, or another book to be opened.

What is the core principle of your idea?

1.Voice control in response to questions in the multimedia stand. 2.Control using DoubleTouch or MultiTouch- panning and tapping with the finger, moving the finger/turning the page. 3.Simplicity and intuitiveness of multimedia presentation. 4.Easy identification by the user of the purpose of the device. 5.Modular construction and freedom of arrangement. 6.A transitioning from a traditional bookstand to a digital one. 7.Cultural versatility. 8.Adaptation of the device for use by children.

Can your idea be applied to different formats (in a bookstore, at a trade fair, at a conference)?

Yes. The goal was to create a product which is universal, easy to transport and assemble. According to the needs, an entire library wall can be arranged, as well as a freestanding presentation module, or possibly even unique forms. In our project we focused on the presentation of those endless possibilities of creation. Places of potential use: 1. Library 2. Bookstore- shop display 3. Bookstore- interior 4. Book fairs 5. Public areas

Would it be possible to turn your idea into a reality, or at least create a prototype of it, at short notice, i.e. by the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2014?

Yes. Multitouch monitors are available to buy. It is possible to make several prototypes and to create an interactive interface (we cooperate with IT professionals that prepare digital books).

What do you estimate the costs for the prototype or the final implementation of your idea to be?

The cost of a sample module M1 (freestanding, for three users) is approximately 2000-4000 euro (depending on the type of finish) + cost of an interactive form of software. Cost of a prototype software with basic functionality would be 2000 euro.
