Opium Bloom
Bold and bright geometric pattern inspired by blooming opium fields and the summer sunlight.

This pattern is created entirely digitally from a photo of a poppy field. I have placed its elements in a triangular grid, which could be interpreted as a prism, spreading the light everywhere in this artificial opium garden, creating vivid summer dreams. Please note each of my designs have three images: the single repeat unit, the maximum scale at 164 cm fabric width* and a detailed closeup of the pattern. All sizes are real, but the resolution has been reduced to 96 dpi for web use.

Why does your design stand out?

This is a very bright and colourful pattern with a great geometry that could be placed on many urban fashion garments, such as hooded tops or T-shirts, and it is also friendly to coated materials, and could be applied to a summer jacket. This is a medium scaled pattern which could be reduced further down, or applied as elements, such as cuffs or patches on monochrome patterns. It has a great and shiny contrast and is perfect on canvas shoes and accessories too.

Which kind of brands do you imagine using your design?

Fast-fashion chains, selling contemporary urban womenswear such as TopShop, Zara, Mango, H&M, also sportswear such as Nike or Adidas.
