China Blue
A modern interpretation of the 18th century Chinoiserie florals in porcelain blue and white
1/4

Solution

During my research into 18th century Chinoiserie, I observed that the floral patterns are flowing, asymmetrical and often seen against a backdrop of large white space or neutral ground. I chose chrysanthemums because they are a quintessential Chinese motif. My colour palette of blue and white evokes a porcelain finish. The image is from T Magazine China, photography by Paola Kudacki and styled by Lucia Liu. I'm still searching to find the name of the dress designer

Why does your design stand out?

I developed the pattern as a 3D model, to create a highly polished finish, and modern print style.

Which kind of brands do you imagine using your design?

High end labels like Giambattista Valli, Christian Dior, Lanvin. High street labels like Zara, and & Other Stores

Is the design 100% created by you or is there anything we should know about any third party material used?

Yes, I created the motifs as 2D digital vectors and then enhanced them as 3D models.
