Solution

I created this textile design using three separate pieces of watercolor artwork, done by hand and then digitally combined in Affinity Designer. Soft, sheer butterflies ~ romantic. In Chinese art, butterflies represent an undying bond between lovers and a long life. The colors and textures, as well as the movement of the motifs in this textile pattern, help tell the story of romance and beauty and bring these ideals to life.

Why does your design stand out?

Pretty colors - both warm and cool. Texture and movement, flowing shapes that wrap well around the body and can be draped to create different effects for a multitude of dress designs and cuts - off the shoulder, cowls, etc.
