This design focuses on those feminine Utopian shades to add a delicate feel. The original design brings soft highlights of white and pastoral shades together; creating more depth with due to the tile repeat in the background. The inspiration for this design comes from 18th century wallpaper styles and the significance of porcelain vases within the Chinese culture. My idea is a vase amongst a shrine within a tranquil garden.
It is a modern interpretation of Chinoiserie with a fresh take on colour. The colours make this design stand out; due to the background shade allowing the highlights within the foliage and vase to really draw the eye in. The composition of the print and the vase make this an usual yet charming design for a garment. The colourways change the feel to more subtleness with the Blue Hues, adds intrigue with deeper tones and a soft whimsical feel with the pink design.
