Drawing inspiration from design elements from chinoiserie styled chinaware, paintings and wallpapers comes 'Inked Elements'. A mix of curved lines and brush marks representing running streams and fallen sticks and twigs; I am in a little peaceful village within a painting and everything is so serene and lovely...

Why does your design stand out?

This is a very modern twist to chinoiserie - instead of mimicking the style I have used elements within chinoiserie styled ornaments and paintings. Taking lines and forms from imagery and recreating something new. The bold circular design could be fitting for a 15 year old or a 55 year old and they would look equallly as stunning! The ink plays a most vital part in the designs as it brings the element of movement and chi - energy that keeps the designs interesting especially up close.

Which kind of brands do you imagine using your design?

I could see this possibly on clothing similar to designs of Issey Miyake but perhaps not as structural. Simple lines for a bold pattern to shine.

Is the design 100% created by you or is there anything we should know about any third party material used?

Created by myself 100%. Imagery of model downloaded from google images labeled for re-use with modification.
