Finally, just over a year ago, Al set off on his own Grand Tour.

His plan? Selling his possessions, flying to America and buying a motorbike. And then spending a year riding from the north of Alaska down to the southern tip of Argentina, working with local charities and taking beautiful photos along the way. Yeah, Al was an ambitious guy.

In summary, what is your “Made on Coboat” project idea (max. 3 sentences)?

If you've ever lost someone who lived life with as much passion as my friend Al, you'll know how wasteful it feels to have them taken away. To celebrate his life, I'm writing a novel about Al, his adventures, and the amazing impact he continues to have on the people who love him. This is his story, and I hope it inspires everyone to adventure, laugh more, and live life with purpose.

How much of your project can you realistically achieve in 100 days if you will get the chance to stay on the Coboat?

A first draft

Will you complete this project on your own, or will you be working with a together with a team?

By myself, with feedback from lots of lovely people :)

Why should your project be chosen?

The story's all about embarking on a voyage of discovery and embracing life, so I'm sure it will resonate with everyone who boards Coboat!

What does this project mean to you?

It's cathartic, writing Al's story. I guess this is my way of coping, and of finding something positive in a tragic situation.

Why do you want to do this project?

I like to think that reading his story will inspire people to seek out adventure in their lives, to find opportunities to make other people happy, and to take risks to create a life that makes them happy.
