Solution

It's a virtual Comicstory about a girl who came to Berlin as a refugee and grew up there while experiencing love, party, friendship, drugs, comunity, music, studies, work, graffiti and all the other freaky culture in Berlin.

In summary, what is your “Made on Coboat” project idea (max. 3 sentences)?

My project is to draw &animate a comicstory about life in Berlin. I was born in a revolution and brought to Berlin as a Baby, grew up, studied and worked here and watched the city change during the last decades. Having a wide circle of friends, celebrating with them and seeing a lot as a socialworker & as a immigrant, I feel the urge to tell some of the stories about the city that never sleeps.

How much of your project can you realistically achieve in 100 days if you will get the chance to stay on the Coboat?

I have the mainplot set. During the 100 days I can make an exact storyboard ,work out & draw the detailed frames, go through some sketchbooks, diaries & photos, sort out & prepare the backgroundmaterial & do some voicerecordings & the research for the story. While doing that I'll search for a program that combines diferent mediums. I honestly dont't expect to go out with a finished piece of work, but with a newboarn story in a basic virtual shape that can then grow to its full exten.

Will you complete this project on your own, or will you be working with a together with a team?

I will draw everything by myself but since I will use photomaterial as background, research about the development of the cityi & use different mediums, I will surely ask for the help, knowledge & experience of others. The project needs the exchange with programers to realize the way of storytelling I imagine. For example: sound is crucial for showing the subcultur &I would l like to make it interactive. Futhermore I will use some know-how of friends & experts when it comes to image processing

Why should your project be chosen?

It's my belief that Berlin is one of the cultural melting pots of our time & that we are taking part in a crazy change of the city (& the world). I think that visualisation & stories can help to understand the complex world we live in & the interrelations between politics, economie, sociaty & our personal lives. I think a story about this place & time & the divers lifestyles in it, is worth telling & I'd love to tell it. It would be lovely if Coboat became the start and a part of this story.

What does this project mean to you?

It means the world to me since it shows the world out of my perspective and I would love to bring it to life while discovering more of the world. Apart from that it's also the wish to somehow reflect a part of history just in the right moment, wich is now, since the city is changing rapidly & drasticly. It seems to me the angle of a foreign girl that addopted the rules of german society might (at least slightly) help in the understanding and exchanging inbetween diferent cultures.

Why do you want to do this project?

It feels like my natural need to realise this project, although I decided to not make my living with creativ work, so it wouldn't become a duty. Nevertheless creativity is a gift and a great passion of mine and this project has been growing in me for quite some time. In the last years I intuitively took notes and skeches, without a specific reason. Now life has brought me to a point and in circumstances in which I have to live like a creativ nomad and I think the time is wright to just be one.

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your professional background. How do you fit into a team? What have you done before within the field of your idea?

I am a socialworker/ yogainstructer & liveartist by nature. I was born in Iran, arrived in Berlin when I was 2 years old. During & after school I worked in Setdesigne for movies and theater but left it & started working on artprojects with kids. Now I'm a so called familyhelper & miss the creative work. Recently I illustrated a story that my mother wrote & had so much fun that I decided to do a bigger project & than I found Coboat. I'm an absolute teamplayer, love dancing & am crazy for cartoon
