Sun + Water = Energie = Live
Gain from solar energy and salt water, fresh water for agriculture
1/8

Solution

The idea is to increase the current efficiency of solar cells up to 30%, (it is a problem in the hot areas of the world) by getting sea-water cooled. At the same time find a way to let the heated water evaporate partially. In a closed system, where the evaporated fresh water is cooled down and collected separately. By solar-powered pumps, the water is pumped to irrigation systems. (such as the Micro-Drip-System) Ideal for Vertical Farming. Save Space! The rest of very salty water could evaporate

In summary, what is your “Made on Coboat” project idea (max. 3 sentences)?

The possibility of solar modules to cool while desalinate seawater. The pumps need to be driven by own solar power. Conceivable for coastal freshwater poor areas in order to provide you with water for automatic irrigation of fields or Micro-Drip-System.

How much of your project can you realistically achieve in 100 days if you will get the chance to stay on the Coboat?

I can create test configurations utilize the maximum and to explore the economics. There are plenty of salt water and sun on board ... The rest is Internet research.

Will you complete this project on your own, or will you be working with a together with a team?

It is a joint project in which you want to inspire appropriate manufacturer for … Maybe Arab states, they have plenty of sunshine, useful area and a little Freshwater. Eventually, the project can also be supported with development aid funds. This can all be searched online.

Why should your project be chosen?

Because more energy and food for everyone ...

What does this project mean to you?

My own experience as a graduate engineer at architecture and as designer, I want to undertake the project to make the world a bit more safe.

Why do you want to do this project?

To give the world something back. Protect the world, so far it is possible for me.
