Land of Adornment: A holographic flower experience
An immersive holographic art installation to celebrate the beauty, geometry and magic of flowers.

I will build a library of 3D digital flower models of real specimens or "Artificial Garden" concepts. Once the models are created, I will design a number of settings/scenes which are then brought to life through digital animations, projections and holography, to create an immersive floral experience.

Throughout the project I will seek sponsors, partners, curators, gallerists and event hosts to ensure that the digital experience can be transferred from screen to locations around the globe.

In summary, what is your “Made on Coboat” project idea (max. 3 sentences)?

Create a library of 3D flower models and scenes inspired by the things I see on the Coboat voyage. Connect with technology partners and sponsors to translate the on-screen media into an immersive holographic experience. Connect with curators and gallerists to build an exhibition show that starts in London and then travels the world.

How much of your project can you realistically achieve in 100 days if you will get the chance to stay on the Coboat?

I will do the modelling and design alone, and spend 75% of my time doing this (5 hours per day), with the aim of producing 9 different tableaux/scenes. The remaining time (3 hrs/day) I would spend researching and networking to find sponsors and partners so that the models I build can be translated into a holographic reality.

Will you complete this project on your own, or will you be working with a together with a team?

I expect to work alone on the modelling, creative direction and initial marketing. Part of my role in the project will be to secure sponsors and partners so the final execution will be a team effort.

Why should your project be chosen?

1) Pure digital: I'll be using technology to transform the sights, sounds and experiences of the voyage and transform them into a new digital experience. 2) Achievable: I can create all the digital assets onboard Coboat, and I have the drive and commercial expertise to secure partners and sponsors to develop the experience. 3) I'm a digital entrepreneur: I'll engage with the other Coboaters to help them define and refine their dreams, and I'll be receptive to feedback and guidance.

What does this project mean to you?

The opportunity to inspire and delight with the beauty and magic of nature, and the amazing possibilities of technology. In this age of "stuffocation" consumers want experience not products. 3D modelling has turned my world upside down, because I can visualise ideas without making things and worrying about sustainability, environment issues, fair labour, etc.

Why do you want to do this project?

I want to show how we can use technology to visualise concepts instead of making things, and enrich our lives with experience instead of consumption.

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your professional background. How do you fit into a team? What have you done before within the field of your idea?

I worked as a software project manager before jumping into fashion to create my own accessories label that I can ran for 10 years. I'm a creative digital entrepreneur with solid management skills and an infectious enthusiasm. I'm an early riser who starts the day with yoga and meditation. Onboard Coboat, my strong work ethic combined with my hippy chill attitude will inspire others and help maintain a great team spirit.
