A first mover, and designed purely as a technology platform, Hytch will be an environment for couples to easily plan an entire wedding in a matter of minutes, instead of months. It also allows vendors to easily find customers and manage business. Taking cues from other revolutionaries like Uber, Ebay, and AirBnB, Hytch is poised to completely disrupt the entire U.S. $70B wedding industry. Hytch is currently in the initial product development phase. Global expansion will follow shortly
In summary, what is your “Made on Coboat” project idea (max. 3 sentences)?
Design, build, and launch a digital platform that seamlessly connects couples and vendors to easily plan and book a wedding. By eliminating distance and time from the equation, both couples and vendors benefit tremendously.
How much of your project can you realistically achieve in 100 days if you will get the chance to stay on the Coboat?
Targeting a launch of Spring 2016, there is still much to do, including: development of business and marketing plans, vendor pitch and onboarding decks, fundraising pitch deck(s), marketing campaign development and execution, project management, product development and testing, partnership creation, and more. With 100 days of uninterrupted and inspired time, I am confident we could get to a state of near-ready to launch, and provide Coboat an excellent success story.
Will you complete this project on your own, or will you be working with a together with a team?
I will be working with my team of co-founders who are based in New York City and Chicago
Why should your project be chosen?
Much like Coboat aims to expand the environment for innovation, Hytch will alter what others believe is possible for a wedding. Barriers will be removed. Lives will be changed. The team behind Hytch is made up of people with a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Embracing new challenges gets us excited. It is our belief Coboat and Hytch are made for each other. Coboat seeks a unique success story upon which it can build its brand, and Hytch can be that story.
What does this project mean to you?
Having personally experienced the difficulties associated with wedding planning, I have a strong desire to see this project succeed. Couples should not experience so many difficulties when moving forward together in to the next phase of their relationship. The horror stories of fights, debt, and stress could be a thing of the past. It is wonderful to know I can help create something to tangibly improve so many lives.
Why do you want to do this project?
Location independence is a driving factor at this time in my professional career, and I see Hytch as a part of that. It's been great working for large and small corporations, but now it's time to follow my dream of owning my own company.
