Thank you for your comment. Sheet thickness 3mm is enough. Re-use aluminum is not less important than the plastic. The upper side plates are playing the role of grips.
Ruslan. I knew that mm 3.If you make the structure of the sheet vertically reinforced is possible to reduce the sheet thickness 1.5 mm. :)

Fantastic is right. This looks like the future to me. We have a lot of scrap metal in the world such as old autos as well. I love the bendable aluminum, lightweight...it seems stable and secure and reusable for a very long time. Great work Luka. 10
Hi luka, beautyful design. But I'm wondering how the customers can carry this crate around in a comfortable way. Looks like this crate is very sharp. But I think this can easily be fixed!
For me, it's not a threat of a sharp edge but the handle just seems like your fingers would slip right away. I don't think your fingers would comfortably fit there. I think the edges could extend and curve around even more. It's a beautiful design, work this out!!
the extra carrying piece wouldn't even have to come up more, just fold it down! But make sure if could be stacked next to each other and on top!
this is just great luka ! :D i really like this crate and i think it coul work very well.. i can't see what could go wrong.. maybe some issues on stackability due to the fact that the sides are not connected one with the other? but maybe the material will hold... nonetheless i love it ! :D good luck !
The weight of multiple crates/pallets on the curved lip is going to spread the sides, and the weight will end up on the bottles. Maybe the lip needs to be flatter so that the sides won't spread.

I really like this idea too. The metal look so strong and stable. WIth many other designs I can see the small plastic parts breaking off in 5-10 years but this metal crate will inevitably last 20 years and beyond. I almost think the handles need to curl down instead of flipping up? Im no engineer but I think a rounded handle which curves down would be desirable. Nice work Luka.

i see a problem inserting and extracting the bottle also, staking is stable on one way.... while transport may slide on one side....

cool stuff but I think there's a better opportunity for plastics
aluminum could end up being a hazard if it is dented/chipped in transit..sharp edges!

I really love the look of your crate and the indea behind it! i am only wondering, if the handles on the long side are big enough to grab them properly, and if the small gap which occurs in the middle of the short side could cause injuries... nine stars!

Nice and simple style and very easy way of fabrication! I also like that you put some technical drawings..A problem could be the colder days, when you hands freeze to the crate :)
I like the idea of recycled aluminum; consider working on the handles at first I was puzzled to why they are facing up instead of down You must have a good grip to design it this way - I agree on adjustment for cold days
Shape of the handle is very comfortable. In extreme cold plastic becomes brittle, aluminum is more resistant. Why disliked?
