Re-case is an update to my previous design. Its triangular arrangement utilizes the space saving benefits of
offset staggering while serving as a physical reminder of recycling.
Six 1L bottles were chosen because this is enough to benefit from
the use of a case for transport, but still a small enough number to keep on
display in the home (not so many that it would be stored in the garage).
White details are paint filled and inset to prevent scratching over the life of
the product. It is made entirely from recycled plastic, and ships efficiently
with 600
1L bottles per pallet. The crate has thin sidewalls to minimize
material use with thicker corners for structural support when stacking.
The case
has alignment features to help maintain stability when stacked on a pallet (see image). The ability to maintain stability when stacked also makes it a handy tool for organizing small items around the house.
