LearnLeague (LL)
Small teams formed to compete for the learning championship on co-selected topics

White Collar, Blue Collar, and Trainees

Particularly in a busy business environment, individuals have trouble finding available time for self-training. According to research and many experts, we are more successful at almost everything when we work as a team. Shawn Achor, the author of Big Success, concludes that "our success is almost entirely interconnected with that of others."

Like Reid Hoffman, the co-founder and chairman of LinkedIn says: “No matter how brilliant your mind or strategy, if you’re playing a solo game, you’ll always lose out to a team.” We should be celebrating team achievements rather than only individual achievements, and we should approach learning as a team sport. Therefore, team-based learning culture within businesses might overcome the issues come with individual-based learning.

Based on the corporate and individual learning goals, learning topics are co-defined by the management and employees. Then, for a chosen topic, teams up to 5 people are formed. Teams are responsible for managing their time and workload. On the deadline, teams gather together and present the topic to the other teams in a limited time. The presentations are then rated and the best ones are selected. Winning teams receive salary bonuses, extra leave days or funding towards training.
