Designing textile patterns inspired by trends spotted on the catwalk never goes out of fashion! Fashion Week Exclusive invites you to remain front and center at fashion week and dig even deeper into the hottest trends.
Your task is to analyse the latest fashion week trends and create your own interpretation directly from the runway. You have the freedom to choose from any fashion week runway look but be sure to take a look at our weekly Trend Alerts for the client's selected key trends from Fashion Week.
Check out the Fashion Week Exclusive Pinterest board and start with the fourth week's Trend Alert "Handcrafted": This alert encourages you to create prints with real handmade character. You are more than welcome to work with watercolours in combination with geometric and floral elements. We want to see your hand in the design and that personal extra something!
This is a call to all designers who have inspiring ideas for pattern design. The best designs submitted on jovoto will be chosen and presented to select international fashion brands by the client, who is a renowned textile supplier. A new prize structure allows you to see the client's favourite designs and gives more community members the chance to be rewarded. In addition to a prize pool of 4,000€ in Client’s Choice ideas, (20 x 200€ per idea, excl. license fee) and 1,000€ in Community Prizes a huge opportunity awaits: to be licensed by a large fashion brand. For every licensed design, you will be paid 100€ for the initial design and an additional 0.20€ in royalties per meter printed. The amount purchased can be up to 20,000 meters per design.
Be inspired by the previous public projects and see all the excellent designs that were created in Artificial Garden, Chinoiserie-Chic and Fashion Week Frenzy. To see the first three projects in the Textile Orbit, take a look at The Lacemaker and Work in Progress and Barcode Deluxe.
