Torn
A highly textural, intricate and abstract surface design, developed into a soft pastel colourway
1/7

Solution

This abstract, surface design was originally hand created using layers of contrasting, torn fabrics, which I then glued together and painted expressive, bold block colours on top.

Why does your design stand out?

This design stands out as it is entirely unique. The techniques I used to create this surface design were highly creative and expressive, using a variety of tools to manipulate fabric. I scanned my hand rendered artwork and then used photoshop to create a half drop repeat pattern, making it suitable for print runs on large lengths of fabric.

Which kind of brands do you imagine using your design?

Kenzo, Dior Couture, Chanel, Missoni ready to wear, Christopher Kane, Burberry

How big is the repeat in your pattern? Keep in mind that it should be at least 64cm.

65cm X 80cm, Half drop
