The Banker: Digital Leadership
The mythological character The Banker is called up on take traditional banking to the digital future

The idea takes the traditional image of the banker of a suit in an office and puts him a different setting, in a parody of an thriller/action film. Through the scenes that are often found in a film trailer, we can make sense of the arc covering the entire story. The concept extends the image of the traditional banker into digital banking, leading the way to the future. DeutscheBank's reputation, experience and tradition is portrayed as a solid foundation. It is the essence of confidence in banking. The new terrain of digital finance might be foreign to begin with, but through the story The Banker realises that this confidence and experience is an asset -- the power of a big bank to provide leadership comes from its size and tradition. Even as financial business turns digital, customer service remains a priority. The Banker can provide this. While investigating the rise of FinTechs, The Banker finds a link between a dozen of them. He realises this is the work of his arch nemesis, The Villain. They are all anagrams or shortenings of The Villain's name. Through ruthless and exciting investigation, our hero uncovers a plot of shaking confidence in the financial sector so The Villain can start his own economy with virtual money and begin his own nation when he can afford an island. It's not necessary to go into these details in the short movie -- what is important is The Banker's realisation that customer service and digital leadership is what traditional banking can provide that smaller FinTechs lack. This will save the financial sector as we know it. This is shown in the montage at the end of the script. The script is just over 6 pages, and comes in at 2m45s due to the many short action shots. The poster conveys the concept with The Banker walking towards the city that is more digital as the buildings ascend to the sky -- this is the green part.

Please explain how your poster brings the idea of digital leadership to life?

The poster shows the title character The Banker in the foreground with his attention on the city across the water, a city becoming more and more digital as the buildings climb into the sky. He leads the way towards the digital future.

Please provide a summary of your film script/storyboard:

The script is set up as a trailer for an action film, hiding a bigger story in its short scenes. FinTechs are rising to de-stabalise the financial sector. The mythological Banker is drawn back into the banking world to help. He finds a link between some FinTech start-ups and recognises the work of his nemesis. He confronts the villain and learns that the essence of banking – being wherever the customer needs help, even digitally – is the key to his own future and of stopping the villain’s plan.

What makes your film poster and script special?

The unique aspect of the film and poster is how it draws on the history of DeutscheBank through the mythological character of The Banker, and combines it with the digital future to show the full experience of leadership and confident banking.
