Great concept. Maybe you can switch the color to make it looking more stylish and more fun.
i think for outdoors its a little too smooth and perfect, i think it should be a little bit more.. fun! On the other hand its genial and the possible combinations are great. Bottom line - 2 thumbs up :-)
Great start! How comfortable are they? Always a bit sceptic about plastic seats... and how heavy are they (thinking about transportation, how handy are they really?). Do you think different generations will deal with your objects differently? And what kind of events do you see working with this idea, looking at the briefing, "show how your design and the occasion come together to create a unique experience!" Looking forward to your updates!

about 7 years agoNice concept in a straight shape for endless variety - I really like the idea and modularity. For the outdoor event experience or the use for outdoor gastronomy you maybe should think about an access to the space inside and make it therewith usable. Maybe you could think of an end piece for the modules to leave an entrance for the inside area? Although one module itself seems quite bulky you propose a good idea for the transport. How about the corner modules? Looking forward to your adaptions...
I really like the possibilities- forming different shapes with the tables themselves as well as putting two rows parallel and after dinner is over and the table cleared switch it over to a seat with a back and everyone could face each other. But how do you transport these tables?
Thank you very much! I reduced the tables from 3-seat to 2-seat units to have dimensions of 110 x 90 x 75cm and you can stack two parts together. I aware that the transport is not so easy for private persons but the parts are intended to be provided by a catering service or an event organisation. That would be a plus for sustainability... because they would be in daily use. They could be transported in a transporter or delivery van. 2 parts stuck together are for 4 people and doesnt take much more space than 4 chairs and the table is integrated.
Also die Idee ist ja mal wirklich genial. Sehr gut ausgedacht und umgesetzt.

about 7 years agoNice and very stylish idea - however I fear it looks much cooler than it is functional; some arrangements might need some acrobatic abilities which can be a problem especially for older or physically handicapped people. Maybe you can find a solution for that, would be worth it!
Thank you for the "nice and very stylish". You are right that senior- and disability-friendly aspects are desirable and should always be part of the process and but I did not find this as an explicit task in the briefing. Whereas you didnt mention this point in my other project "Mitosis_picknick mat" where you sit on the ground, which is, in my judgement, even more problematic. (My Grandma would not be too enthusiastic on that one :) And a project where you sit ~10cm above ground even made it into your "loved ideas". I think the usability of moDa is comparable to an ale-bench and I have faith in the helpfulness of the seatmates. Standing up for older people, helping them or letting them take seat at the end of an element-row (exit) could solve a lot of these issues. But you are right that its worth thinking about it... an I will try to find a solution that doesnt defeat the purpose of moDa.

I really like it, it's perfect for a lounge bar or something, and your renderings are great.

Would be great if you could make the units flexible some how, it would make it mould to the person using it and would also allow the person to decide if they want to sit upright or recline. I like how many formations the pieces can make, good luck!
THE UMBRELLAS DESIGN DOESN'T MATCH THE SITTING DESIGN. IT IS WAY BACK. THE SITTING IS GOOD INTENTION THOUGH.

This is really pretty and functional, I really like it. However, Thanasis brings up a really good point with the umbrella design. If it's a really hot day, many people would be fighting to be able to sit in the shady areas. I'm sure it's a simple fix in design that you can change though. Good luck to you.
ok... the umbrellas are random garden umbrellas and dont belong to moDa. since they are also not fixed and you can change their position, the shaddow should be no broblem. their number is also not fix. maybe you let others explain the trees standing next to their objects. somtimes they might dont fit the design.
I think this is nice idea with lots of potential but it is very cold and sterile and put in amongst nature it would come across as alien and almost like it doesn't belong. Maybe materiality could be re addressed?
Wow! Great renderings. Looks like a good bar design. Maybe a little bit too much for a customers home but perfect for bars, cafes, etc. ;-)
In my opinion this idea fits perfect for a large social and culinary outdoor events. I like the modular part because it allows you to arrange your proposed items in a vast number of ways.
i like your design but is rather inconvenient to get to sit down or get out?
