Table sculpture with solar lights.
Alfresco dining with no lighting, is not complete.

Solution

My idea is to combine decorative animal sculpture with function to create works of art. The table is made out of aluminum and fitted with solar panels and solar lamps. The table can range in different sizes.

The table is used as a serving point. This table is ideal for a cocktail or any dining event that does not involve sitting although the design can be changed to fit to a sitting event.

The table can also be left outside during bad weather due to the material used to make it weather proof. It needs no assembling or dismantling.

Here is an example of lights that can be used to light up the table:

Which problem is solved by this idea?

Lighting a garden can be costly. The use of solar energy is utilized. The need to use lamps, candles etc can be reduced by leaving the sculpture outside to charge in readiness for the night's event.

How does your idea solve the problem?

The use of candles, lamps, electricity is monotonous and costly. The sculpture also add beauty to the gardens during the day.

What's the benefit for the target group?

This is economical, sustainable, user friendly and attractive. It will be benefiting to me to realise this, have them manufactured and sell to users. The media coverage will be good to the designers.

What could be the perfect event to implement your approach/object?

Any outdoor event is perfect. Both day and night events.

How many guests can participate in your outdoor dinner?

As many as the garden can accommodate!
