very nice idea! i'm not an aquarium expert, but as i remember there is always some technique needed (water circulation, solutions for cleaning and exchaning the water and so on). did you consider that in your design or is it more a design study?

When cleaning aquarium, you should just remove part (10-15%) of the water and replace it with fresh water. For this case aquarium could be draw like drawer and that make exchange water easier.
And you need filter to remove dangerous chemicals and the fish's waste products from the water and it is not big problem to integrate.
Looks like between the split in the table it is open, straight into the tank? Is it like this? Looking forward to more and your description.
Surface of the table is glass panel . It is not open, just look like that because of glass reflection. :) Down below is aquarium and holes for air circulation are on the side of the table.The aquarium can be removed from the table without moving the whole table. I will add more details that will better explain the design.
Vanja, your design is beautiful, as always! I don't like to have animals locked up, but your table is beautiful with or without aquarium, even with a planter of tropical plants or whatever. Great work :-)
yeah, that`s actually a very cool idea...that the aquarium can be replaced with a terrarium with lights or even a place where you can grow basil and other herbs.

REALLY BEAUTIFUL IDEA!!! SO SIMPLE AND YOU CAN HAVE DIFFERENT COLORS AND MATERIAL FOR THE STRUCTURE, WOODEN, METAL, ALUMINUM, STEEL, ETC. LOVE THE FACT THAT NATURE WILL ENLIGHT THE DINNING MOMENT!!! NOW YOU HAVE GOLFISH BUT YOU CAN ADD ANY TYPE OF COLORFUL FISHES!!! IT'S TRUE ABOUT LOCKING UP ANIMALS IT'S NOT THE SPIRIT OF NATURE BUT MAYBE INSTEAD OF HAVING A SMALL AQUARIUM YOU CAN HAVE THE AQUARIUM WITH IN THE DINNING OUTDOORS. SHELLS, CARACOLES AND SEAWEED WOULD ALSO HAVE FUN TO BE PART OR IT!!! A FAIR TREATMENT WITH LOVE AND CARE IS WILL BE GOOS FOR THEM!!! EXCELLENT VANJOLINA!!! :)
Thaaanks Xavier. Great suggestion. I will add some updates with different materials an colors. Yes there is a lot of possibility's to design beautiful colorful aquarium if you love that. Maybe it is look like they are locked, but fishes are not locked at all. I will show where is open space for air. Thanks for love and support. :D
Very nice one vanjolina :) The design is great and fishes are wonderful and interesting to look at. Though, maybe add an umbrella possibility, to keep the temperature of the water stable even on hot summer days :)

Great idea but dont forget it's a outdoor project. What about fishes on a cold night or like Platina sayd on a hot day because fishes dont want it to warm and in this water bowl they going to be boiled. ;-)

And they can be hidden by some decorative elements for aquarium.

I think it is a great design... but knowing fish, they need some unpretty tech in there, and generally won't be happy to be locked up in such a tight space.
I was wondering if you could leave the space in the middle of the tabletop open, and convert the aquarium to a herb garden? That should be handy, pretty, and humane.

There is space for air from every side of aquarium and it is not that small. It is 70cm long, so I am sure that fishes can be happy. :) I will add more updates with herb garden .
The legal minimum would be 54 liters - and that is only suitable for very few, very select fish breeds, and then only 3-4 fish. Your design wouldn't even make it to 54 liters, and most exotic fish need 120 or 160 liters.
I just hate if design trumps animal welfare...

But I will keep the aquarium option.Maybe in Germany 54 liters is legal limit, but that is very large aquarium.I didn't consider that because that is not the case in my country.I have a friend who loves animals especially fishes and his aquariums have less than 15 liters of water(of course the number of fishes is proportional with aquarium size) and also pet shops have a lot of small aquariums (10-15 liters).

Nice form and idea. But remember, that an aquarium doesn't survive in the full sunlight because of heat problems for the fish and intense algae growth, as far as I have heard. Maybe try additional functions like growing culinary herbs,
And - seeing the new image: I would avoid the cold, "techy" stainless steel or aluminium - I felt more comfortable with the lacquered steel that it seemed to be before.
