Dimensions 225 cm x 90 cm x 75 cm

Stools 45cm cube

This table is an unashamedly high end luxury piece. It would become the focal point of outdoor terraces and private gardens as well as forming a key part of any outdoor hospitality or event areas of hotels and public outdoor entertainment areas.

Its construction method uses the water tough to create a deep beam in the centre which both allows for a long clear span for the table surface and provides the necessary cross bracing and rigidity for the table as a whole.

It is possible to construct the table in many different materials from Sheet Steel, to Marble to Concrete to Glass.

Each material would give the table a different look and allow it to be contextualised and integrated into the host environment be it landscape or architectural.

The table can be treated as a standalone table or can be connected in series to allow a running water flow across all of the tables echoing the original Cardinal's table in Italy.

For a stand alone table the water trough can be filled with ice or water.

In the case of a table made with solid materials e.g. stone, steel etc. the bottom of the water trough will be glass.

This will allow for up-lighting and back-lighting effects for the table at night which will add a further dramatic look to the table.

The guests at the Cardinal's table could also dip their toes in water, this idea has been incorporated into the final renderings which show how the table could be used in a vineyard for instance.

Which problem is solved by this idea?

The focus of your concept should be the items that give your culinary event, whether small or large, an exclusive touch. Show how your design and the occasion come together to create a unique experience!

I see this table as being ideally suited to catered events in hotels, private houses and commercial related areas such as winery/vineyard hospitality and hosting.

How does your idea solve the problem?

The table provides a real 'wow' factor by its use of a water trough for either filling with ice or water to chill wine and food dishes. If the trough is filled with water floating candles and flowers as well as sushi boats can all be included to style the table for the particular event or end user.

What's the benefit for the target group?

The benefit is the creating of a real 'wow' factor to add uniqueness to the particular venue and event.

What could be the perfect event to implement your approach/object?

Special outdoor event catering in a permanent location e.g. hotel garden or grounds. Winery of Vineyard hospitality allowing wine tasting and meals to be held al fresco in a unique setting and style

How many guests can participate in your outdoor dinner?

The table as shown is 2.25 m long and can accommodate 6-8 people. However the tables can be connected in series to each other to cater for any conceivable number
