The task
The task for the jovoto creatives was to develop items that are perfectly suited for a culinary event in the open air: From furniture that can be conveniently moved around and transported, to a sunshade for a picnic with family or friends, down to an outdoor kitchen, seating or shade for the professional and exclusive catering needs of a large group.

garden unique at spoga+gafa
spoga+gafa is the world’s leading trade fair for the garden industry. This year it takes place from 2nd through 4th of September 2012 in Cologne, Germany. What makes the spoga+gafa special is the garden unique and its premium area for outdoor furniture, which is developed together with leading manufacturers. Here, in an informal atmosphere, manufacturers, retailers and designers can find out about the latest trends and innovative ideas.

The winning ideas
The expert jury awarded three jury winners (Canorta, Linea and Flaschenkühler) whose designs will be exhibited at the spoga+gafa in the garden unique exhibition area. The three jury winners will get an additional prize at the value of 1.000 € each. The official award ceremony will take place on the 3rd of September at 6 p.m. during the unique hour.

The 16 community winners will be presented at the spoga+gafa within the garden unique area. Also the projects will be documented in an exclusive 2012 garden unique idea book.

The expert jury

The project was accompanied by a prominent jury, including Patrick Nadeau (architect of products for Authentic) and Marc Sadler (designer of outdoor products for Slide, Serralunga, Magis, Skitsch, Pedrali). The team of experts also included Herbert Seckler (CEO of Sansibar Sylt), Tobias Lutz (architonic.com), Ralf Ferdinand Broekmann (editor-in-chief of build magazine) and Rüdiger Sprave (event manager of the imm cologne, spoga+gafa by koelnmesse).
