Using compressed air as the shared mdium of energy storage and transmission, we hope to develop solar, wind and pedal-powered modules to pump water at a price of not more that 50 Euros/module. For the Greenpeace Challenge we have chosen a design with 9 square meters solar thermal collectors combined with a hybrid compression-airlift pump. Using simple parts which can be built and maintained by every farmer or community, we are avoiding complexity and built in obsolescence. In our test lab in Stuttgart University (IWS Vaihingen), we have commenced testing and building prototypes. Our work is voluntary and unpaid. We need funding for parts and equipment.
