Dig to be green
We’ve created a long-term and collaborative campaign to make the city greener.



1- We will mark spots in public places that could have their green area improved with a shovel, a counter and a soil tank with sensor.

2- Citizens will be invited to dig. For every 200 digs, a tree will be planted on that spot and the shovel, counter and soil tank will be relocated.

3- The trees will be part of city’s heritage and maintained by the bank. Aside the tree there will be a sign with the bank’s logo, the project’s hotsite URL and the name of every citizen who helped digging.

- Will have a public space where people can share ideas and suggest new places to plant a tree.

Because we know sustainability is very important for Berlin, we’ve created a long-term and collaborative campaign to make the city greener with the help of Berlin’s citizens.

Everybody will benefit from this idea: citizens, the environment, the city, the bank.

Why is your idea “good for Berlin”?

We will improve the city's green area with the help of citizens, making them feel they really did something good for the city with their own hands.

How many people do you think will benefit from your idea?

As many as possible. If we can plant trees all over the city, we will impact a large number of people.

In what way does the Berliner Sparkasse gain visibility through your idea?

Berliner Sparkassen's brand will be exposed in every spot during digging and after the tree is planted and in the hotsite.

Which kind of people and how many of them will take notice of your campaign?

This campaign can achieve from children to old people.

How much do you estimate the annual budget for the implementation of your idea to be?

The sensor technology will have to be adapted to this situation, as this kind of technology already exists. Maintaining the trees will have a very low cost, but will depend on how may trees the bank will be willing to plant at the same time.
